So I heard when you give birth, sometimes u poo right there!! is it true???? Im so scared lol! isn't it mortifying???!

Yes it's fairly common too. But you won't even notice it and the doctors are so used to it that it doesn't even faze them one bit so no worries :) Plus you will be to busy seeing your baby for the first time you won't care.

:flower:

If it happens you really won't care or notice believe me. It has never happened to me (my OH would gleefully tell me if it did!) so it doesn't happen to everyone xx

Yes it's true! I heard about this after I had given birth to my DS. I asked my OH at the time and he gladly told me I had and said they wiped it away as soon as it happened. My mom who was also there never mentioned it to me. She would never tell me if I asked her either. You use the same muscles to push as you do when you go poo. That's why it is very common for women to do it while pushing.

Yep. The pregnancy book I have says around 1 in 4 women po in labour. I did with my 2nd :haha:. Before giving birth the thought of pooing in labour stressed me out so much- I'd never even passed wind in front of my DH :haha: but when you're actually in labour you just don't care!

Its true, It didnt happen to me, but Its the very same feeling as your baby comes out, I kept shouting Im pooing Im pooing stop looking, to Hubby ( I was more worried about him seeing me poo than anything else) him and th midwife and doctor were laughing at me telling me I was not pooping and thats just how it feels.... I could have sworn I was.

I did with my first, not with my 2nd. It helps if you've had a 'clear out' before hand which some women get and I did with my second but my labour with my first was nearly 2 days so obviously didn't get a chance lol.

I had clear outs with both my kids for a week or 2 before which wasn't very pleasant either! Honestly labour is not glamorous anyway so I dont think that a bit of poo would make any difference lol. My son pooed on me literally the second he came out lol so I was sweaty, bloody and covered in meconium.

Yes, I did with two of my three children. The midwives are really discreet about it, you genuinely don't really care either. I didn't realise I had with my first, my OH informed me later on that I had.

lol its that common eh? so you're so pre occupied with going through hell you don't care at the time...interesting lol (Im still scared of it happening though lol)

I had an epidural so I wasn't going through hell. Not sure if women who hadn't had the pain medication would call it that though. It was a different experience and I'm so glad to get to go through it again! Hopefully a couple more times as well!

You'll find out that when you're pushing your baby out, you're more focused on pushing that baby out and seeing your child than pooing on the table. :) Good luck!!

Im pretty sure i didnt poo im sure i would of felt it unless it was at the end of my labour when i ended up with an epidural, forceps and episiotomy cos baby was back to back and got stuck but once they had turned him and made more room for him to get out i only pushed twice and he was out!

So if i pooed then no one told me! :)

Yep it is true but trust me, if it happens to you you really won't care lol x

I saw in a show the midwife holding a disposable towel on the womans butt as the baby was coming out. I think she stopped from whatever was about to happen from happening. I told my husband to NEVER look down there just in case that happens to me. Ahhhh

yeh its very common i didnt with ds i was really worried about it top but trust me when ur in labour u wont.care i felt like i was but i asked hubby and he would tell me and he said i didnt.
im glad dh doesnt want to look down there anyway just incase i do this time round

It didn't happen to me but when I was 7cm dilated the midwife made me go to the toilet lol her words "this could be your last chance to go to the toilet so I'd try and get something out" I felt I didn't need the toilet but when I sat down I did end up emptying my bowels (tmi) which i think helped not pooing when I started pushing lol if the midwife didn't force me to the loo I bet I would have.... Nothing about giving birth is sexy trust me

I've read that most women do but apparently a lot of the time it's only the tiniest amount that can be quickly dabbed away. I wouldn't worry about it, I have no idea whether I did or not! xx

I am with everyone else. When it's your first you worry about everything, but when you are in labor you won't care about much. I promise

It's true, but the way I look at it, I'm paying them a pretty penny they can clean me up too!

I didn't, but I swore I was going to! I even asked my DH if I did and he said I didn't, but would have loved if I had so that he could make fun of me forever!
