is marie too common for a middle name?

My third has the middle name Marie - I think it is fairly common but I have to say she is 5 now and the number of times anyone has actual used her middle name is tiny!

If you like it who cares how common it is?

Middle names aren't used too often so even if it is common who cares, it's a beautiful name

We'll be using it of LO is a girl because its MIL's name.

We are also using the middle name Marie as it is my sister's middle name, and she never got the girl she so desperately wanted. It is very common, but it goes so well with so many names! You only really use it when the LO is getting into something they shouldn't be anyway

It was super popular 20+ years ago (uk) but I don't think its used as much now.

I agree with pp. I think the popularity has died out. Mns are all Mae/Rae or Lily/Rose sort of names now.

I think it's one of those middle names that will always be popular in some way. That bothers some people, but I see it as being a classic name. If you like it, go for it.

It's my middle name and the number of people who had the same mn as me growing up was phenomenal, but I'm 31!

I like it, it's classic.

And I rarely use my mn so people only know if they ask me!
