130/80? it was 130/77 the other day and my midwife said its creeping up which is apparently normal at the end of pregnancy but she then started asking if id had any headaches etc so was obviously concerned about pre eclampsia.

i really dont need something else to worry about! my second sweep couldnt be done today as my cervix has gone even further back and baby is less engaged and has turned back to back so i just feel like crying as it is :nope:

130/80 is pretty normal - I think 120/80 is just about perfect but it's the bottom number you need to worry about more (my OH has high BP and is on medication so I know from watching him - his peaked at 180/120 or something ridiculous which is heart attack numbers, and is now under control with meds and hovers around 140/80)

Mine has gone up from my usual low 100/60 to 113/80 since week 30 which is really high for me but midwife doesn't seem concerned. If it makes you feel any better she's been quizzing me about headaches and swelling as well - I think they probably just say it to everyone! I wouldn't worry about it :flower:

thanks hun, hope both our bubs put in an appearance soon

Thats a pretty normal reading hun mine was high yesterday at 144/89 so they took some blood as I'd got a uti too.
But my normal reading is in the low 80's (op is right it's the bottom number to keep your eye on)

My bp is normally around 110/60 and at my appt today it was 132/85 and she said its been creeping up and is a bit high for me and is seeing me every week to check it. I've had all the headache swelling questions too but presume its just something they want to keep their eye on but wouldn't be too worried

That blood pressure is fine and normal. The diastolic (bottom number) is the most important in terms of pre-eclampsia and it's well below 90 so I wouldn't be concerned at all. The midwife was just doing her job and by asking those questions is just another way they can reassure themselves and the client that everything is still all good.

Here in the US the magic # is 140/90.....but if they see an upward trend then they start watching it. My guess though is that the baby will be out before it becomes a problem (hopefully)

That's a fine blood pressure and there's no need to be concerned about it. :flower: My BP was high in the beginning (ranging around 160/90 or 140/100) due to generally being freaked out around doctors and naturally, my midwife was concerned until she started playing soothing music and not telling me whether or not I was getting blood drawn that day until after she had tested my BP. My BP was 135/90 today and my midwife was quite pleased with this.

:hugs: Don't worry, your BP is fine.

mine was 150/97 on Friday - and they took bloods which were normal and went back today and it had gone down again.

I think they don't start to worry too much unless it suddenly shoots up or if it goes above abaout 160/110 unless you have other symptoms such as the headaches or flashing lights / visual disturbances and sudden puffiness of face or hands.

I was told today it was bascially pregnancy hypertension which is fairly normal. If it's late on then they definitely won't worry too much as baby should be here soon!

mine is 120/90 today and midwife is concerned enough tocome to my house tomorrow to check it again and if shes still not happy then i'm being sent to hospital for bp checks over a two hour period... like thats gonna bring it down.

just a wait and see what they say.

Mine has usually been 110-117/55-63 but I had a couple weeks it was 130/65 and then a couple days it was at 147/70-80
They said it was a little high but not too bad. Then I had my next appointment 2 days later and it was 102/58. They were like "ARE YOU FEELING OK?!?" Umm a little light headed but not so bad...
