Is she allergic to egg or not? Should I try introducing them?

Well we thought Maria was allergic to eggs as her eczema seemed to get a bit better when I stopped eating eggs but I tried eating eggs the other day and her eczema didn't get worse after her breastfeed so yesterday I touched her lips with some boiled egg yolk and there was no reaction. Does this mean she's not allergic to eggs (well the yolks at least)? Would it be safe to let her eat a little?

Generally non EEG/IgE reactions are cumulative, so it can take a while for the 'effect' be become apparent iykwim?

So she could well still be allergic, but its not a histamine reaction, but a digestive/gastric one that presents through skin flare ups.

Hmmm ok. So should I try eggs for a while and see if a reaction builds up or wait til she's older before trying?

How old is she now? I'd probably start with you eating eggs so through BM and then in baked good, and see how you get on
Add a little every 2-3 days for a couple of weeks and see how you get on, if her skin flares up cut back to once a week and see if it settles back down.

My LO is allergic (gastric reactions not EEG/IeG) and we have been told 12 months plus and in balked stuff first - but her allergy causes cramps and poo issues as well as skin.

HTH, feel free to PM me

She's nearly 8 months. That sounds like a good plan, I'll start eating eggs and seeing if she reacts through breastfeeding and then I'll try with baked goods.

Hmm her poo has got a bit softer the last couple of days but not sure if thats a poo issue or just down to her drinking more water  Doesn't seem to have any tummy ache though.

Thanks a lot :)
