Hello

I need some advice as to what is happening to me has anyone had anything similar?

I had a positive pregnancy test then yesterday had red bleeding and doctor said it was probably a miscarriage but I would need to wait a week to take a pregnancy test to see if it was still positive or not.

Then today the bleeding has stopped. I dont know whether this is a miscarriage as the doctor said the bleeding would probably last around 5 days.

I would really appreciate any advice or your experiences as is driving me mad having to wait a week to take a test to find out if i miscarried or not.

Thanks

Hi there and I am sorry you are going through this terrible ordeal of not knowing what your body is doing:hugs:

Is there any cramping or did you pass any bigger then normal blood clots (Sorry if TMI)? I know the waiting is hard to do :hissy: but unless you are far enough along to have a scan which I am guessing not or Dr. would have given you one. Wait and see is the only thing that you can do.

I have my fingers crossed for you and hoping everything turns out OK:hug:

hi hunni how many weeks are you? it could be a misscarriage but as the bleeding has stopped it can be other reasons too like implantation bleed or cervical erosion. how heavy was the bleeding? i really hope it isnt a misscarriage hunni. x

The doctor said i am 5 and half weeks so cant have a scan yet which is why i just have to wait and see.

The bleeding was fairly heavy a bit like a period with very small clots (sorry if TMI). But has completely stopped today. I think i had implantation bleeding last week as i had a few spots of old blood around the time you would expect this to happen.

I just dont know if this is a miscarriage as i would have expected it to last longer.

I am just so confused and worried.

Sorry meant to say thanks for your replies!

What is cervical erosion by the way?

not sure if this will help but, when we had our last loss which was Tuesday we were 6weeks along. My DH rushed me to the ER because I was having very bad cramps, which I knew was not right. After being there for 15 minutes had to go to the bathroom and I passed a fairly large mass of blood (TMI ) rang the nurse and she said that was our baby. The cramping is how I knew something wasn't right.

A lot of women bleed during early pregnancy and things turn out OK. I bleed during both mine and I went on to have 2 crazy kids from those pregnancies.

I know it is hard but try to keep the faith that everything is going to be OK.:hugs:

I am sorry to hear about your loss  and thanks for sharing your experiences mine do not sound like yours but then i suppose everyone is differrent.

I am trying to stay positive but then dont know if i should be getting my hopes up too much

hey hun cervical erosion is when something irritates your cervix i.e sex,or vigorous exercise and it causes your cervix to bleed. when your pg its much more sensitive and has an increase in blood flow so its more prone to being irritated.

like the doc said its a matter of waiting as hard as it is. i'm suprised he hasnt offered to do blood tests to check your hcg levels thats what they did with my first loss. x

just to add as well with my first loss i had pink tinged blood at first by time i got to a&e it had turned red and a few hours later i was doubled over with cramps. like you say everyones expereinces are different but so far it sounds like its just one of those things iykwim.

oh and you can also have bleeding in pregnancy from when baby implants it can cause a heamatoma (like a bruise/blood clot) and either your body absorbs it or you bleed. i had this with my youngest daughter and with angel jessica.x

Sorry to hear this :(

If you are in the UK, you might be better off contacting your local early pregnacy unit directly for a scan or some bloods. GP's can be a bit unsympathetic to say the least.

Fingers crossed for you xx
