This is my first cycle using opks so I'm just getting this hang of it. I am currently on CD20 of a 38 day cycle. I originally thought I missed my surge a few days ago around CD16 since I was getting pretty dark but still negative opks. Then the next few following days they faded to almost nothing. So I woke up this morning and thought what the heck, I'll just take another one to satisfy my urge to poas lol. To my surprise, this is what I got and it was with FMU. DH and I bd'ed right afterwards just in case. :) It's all the same opk, just different pics of it. Please tell me what you ladies think...

Looks it to me and if not its very very close and will be + on your next test, ties in with your cycle length too, good luck, get BD :winkwink:

Well I just took another opk a few minutes ago around 7pm. It turned out to be negative. Is it possible that I just caught the end of my surge with the opk from this morning? Or is it possible that I haven't O'd at all yet? We haven't bd'ed the past few days except for this morning right after I got the positive opk, but we still plan on bd'ing the next few days just in case. Do you think we timed it good if that was the end of my surge this morning? Sorry, I'm a worrier I know lol. Anyways, here's a pic of the opk from a few minutes ago and obviously negative...

Hmmm, that's a tough one! I think they say fmu isn't the best for opk's but I honestly don't know why. Your first one was def positive so hopefully that bd'ing right after did the trick! Good luck. :)

Usually I got a + for 2 days but I guess everyone is diff. Keep testing... On a 38 day cycle I would guess your surge could be anywhere between day 20 and 25. X

Thanks for the replies ladies! I took another opk this morning with FMU. I'm now on CD21 and it looks like another positive to me. I'm a bit confused with getting a positive yesterday morning, then a negative in the evening, then another positive this morning. I'm not sure how much I trust the opks now or even if I'm reading them right lol. Anyway, here's a pic of the opk from this morning. Sorry it's a bit blurry but it looks positive right?? Is it common for that to happen? We still bd'ed again this morning just in case.

take a pregnancy test!!! sometimes, opks can turn positive if you are pregnant.

Really do you think so?? I thought about it but I'm only on CD21 and last cycle was a 38 day cycle so I'm assuming this cycle will be the same. I just don't want to get my hopes up and see anther BFN.

I've heard people say opk's can pick up an lh surge on the way up and back down. That may have happened? Or maybe your evening urine was diluted yesterday? Either way, sounds like you have a good shot since you bd'd both days. Good luck! :)

You're right, I think there is a chance my evening opk was diluted yesterday since I ate and drank a lot of fluids a couple hours before I took it. Which is why I didn't take one this evening. We will see what results I get in the morning....

Thanks so much ladies for all of your replies! Makes it so much easier to have someone to talk to through out this journey. :)

You're welcome...I know how it goes! All of this stuff would drive me crazy if I couldn't come on here and obsess with everyone. :)

Oh definitely! I would be so lost and have no clue about TTC if it weren't for this site lol! I feel like I've gained so much knowledge just between this cycle and last's that I feel like I didn't even have a chance to conceive before.

I hear ya about not wanting to see another bfn. Keep us updated :)

CD22 and still getting a positive opk. This one was with SMU and to me it looks like the test line is even darker than the control line so I don't know what's going on lol. Still bd'ing every morning just in case....

Well, thats positive alright! How confusing! Can only think that your earlier tests may have just been near positive. Thats a good thing mind cos you got some BD in and most of the time conception occurs from BD BEFORE Ovulation xx

I used opks this cycle and I'm now 6 weeks preg (ticker wrong lol) anyway I had the same as you had one the same in morn then on evening nothing, anyway they say it's best to do opks between the hours of 10am-8pm as the morning is so unreliable and you could miss it Gl hun, oh and I thought is shine abit of hope for you I use to have a CD of 34 I ovd on CD 25 so my lp was only 9 I got a pos opk on the 12th July and the 23rd July got a poss preg test, I have everything crossed for you hun xx

Thanks so much tdog!! That gives me so much hope!!! I'm very optimistic this month despite it only being our second cycle ttc! :)
