I had previously been on BC for 9 years. I went off BC 3 cycles ago (well, I'm in the middle of the 3rd right now).

The last month of BC I had my last pill-period, lasting my typical 4 days, and an exact 28-day cycle.

The first cycle of no BC my period arrived after 26 days and lasted only 48 hours - very light. The second cycle was the same - 26 days, 48hr period, light flow.

I don't temp or anything, but this cycle I started checking CM and CP more for interest's sake. Technically, I would consider myself as NTNP.

So, my question is, is such a short period normal? Did the pill "reset" my body? In highschool I seem to remember my cycles being longer (30-35 days, irregular) and more like 7 day bleeds. Is such a short bleed indicative of a lack of ovulation?

Also, does it matter what time of day you check CM and CP?

Thanks!

It may take your body awhile to get back to the norm for you, or it could change all together. Your lucky though it could be longer and really really heavy!!

I would be inclined to ask a doctor about this...because it may help you to have some better understanding. I was on the BCP for 7 years but it was because I had PCOS and needed it to get a period...so unfortunately i cannot atest to how long or short or heavy or light your period should or shouldn't be. If you want to know if you're ovulating...take and ovulation test between days 10-18 of your cycle....if it shows up positive then you're ovulating and you are just lucky to have a light and short cycle
