Hey everyone! I finished my first ever round of clomid last month and was just about to move onto round 2. 7 days ago i finished taking progrsterone to bring on a period as i dont have regular periods and it never came which was unusual as it always happens to me 2-3 days after taking the pills. Anyway, i did a test and its a BFP! im in total shock , i went out and bought 5 clear blue tests and they all say the same 2-3 weeks pregnant??
Is this too good to be true?!

thanks! Im so shocked, im meant to be flying to Marrakesch on friday and now i dont really know whether to fly or not?

Could the progesterone pills have given me false pregnancy tests?

Ive had no symptoms of pregnancy so far apart from a bit tired, but other than that i really had no clue?

I think you are pregnant! Why did you not consider taking a test before starting the progesterone? Did you not think Clomid worked? Progesterone can't give you a false BFP, but if you start taking progesterone in early pregnancy it can be risky to stop it. Progesterone is what supports the pregnancy in early stages so if your body's been getting support which suddenly stops it can lead to m/c
So I'd call your Dr asap to ask what you should do.

Personally I wouldn't fly. I've been trying to get pregnant for s long that I'd want to take extra care and I have heard story when women miscarried after flying in early pg

Sounds like a bfp to me. The progesterone wouldn't cause a false positive. Call the Dr. asap cause you might need to start the progesterone again.

congratulations hun, im starting my 1st round of clomid when af comes,

you should call your dr and ask about the progesterone, as you may need to start it again if you were taken it because if your bodys used to getting it then it stops it can cause problems hun,

ok thanks girls for all the advice! im really worried now, do you think i should take the progresterone tablets over this weekend until i call the doctor just in case??
I dont want to mess anything up and the last time i took them was on tuesday??

Maria, I didnt take a preg test before restarting the progesterone as my periods are so all over the place and as i had no positives on the OPKS and i hadnt naturally come on my period i just totally assumed i should take it again to induce my period to get on round 2 of clomid!.....so no, ive only taken one literally as i didnt have a period since this progesterone withdrawal

i think i will take it still just in case or at least until i speak to the doctor???

thanks manchester1! I called my doctor last night out of hours and explained what had happened, she said she thinks it will be fine and to not take the progesterone so im not going to so that put my mind at rest a bit! Im still really not sure how many weeks I am as my last period was the 18th august so according to the NHS website im 7-8 weeks but clearblue says 2-3, which means 4-5??...anybody know what the score is on this?

it all depends on when you ovulated! All the due date calculators work on the idea that you ovulated on day 14 of a 28 day cycle! So if you don't know when you ovulated....you'll have to wait for a scan to find out a true due date. You could book a private scan with somewhere like 'babybond' I had one at 8 weeks just for reassurance. You would be able to get an estimated due date than way! Otherwise your gp will book you a scan for approx 10-12 weeks!

thanks daisy! i have no idea when i ovulated, i had negative OPK's every day i tested so i pretty much gave up...hence the total suprise!

Am really worried though as ive just taken a week of provera to induce a period as i was about to go on clomid round 2 but i had no idea i was pregnant when i was taking these pills as my test previously was negative so it must of just been bad timing or something!

Will ring the GP tommorrow and see what she says!

Well ive finally managed to get a GP appointment at 3.30 today so can go along and see what they say about me having taking this progesterone when i shouldnt have, i really hope its all going to be ok!

Hey both, thanks so much!
Well i went to the doctors and hes booked me an early scan due to the fact i took progesterone when i shouldnt of and the fact my periods are all over the place so its hard to know how far gone i am -although he thinks its 8 weeks this week....so next week its scan time! He did say that although i took the progesterone it could of been a good thing as it can help with implantation and things so who knows!! put my mind at rest a bit but i guess next week is the actual confirmation date and until I see it I cant believe it!

Im glad its given you all hope, as it definitely should do as I seriously wasnt expecting it!
