That my best friend's fiancee (my best friend is male, fiance is female) won't look at my baby? And when he does baby talk to her and smiles she won't respond, just look away? This has happened on 2 occasions (the only 2 times she has met him). My best friend smiles back and plays with him (calls him "little dude").

I find it bizarre and kind of rude. I wasn't broody or maternal before having a baby but if a baby giggled at me or tried to talk I at least responded back. I didn't ask her to hold him, take care of him or anything?

It does seem a bit rude, but you never know other peoples circumstances so for all you know she could be desperate for a child herself and not had any luck yet so finding it hard being around your LO

If there's nothing like that going on then yes she is just rude.

I see what you mean. I know they are WTT for wedding next year but I don't know the TTC history so maybe. Maybe she just hates babies. Strange for a maternity nurse.

really? shes a baby nurse? well maybe she doesn't like u there fore doesn't want to play with ur baby? very very strange indeed. i hope she not just being rude on purpose since she IS gonna marry ur best friend!

Yeah, she's a baby nurse, LOL

Yeah I dunno, I think maybe she's so obsessed with her wedding/Bridezilla and maybe offended that I'm not forking over $4000 to go (destination wedding)??? Who knows. I've known her for 10 years, lol, I thought she would be fine but was disinterested the moment he proposed (baby was a few weeks old then)

ooooooooooooh i see Dont u love bridezillas! lol $4000?! ya right! i got bills to pay and a baby to feed! she must be off her rocker lol

Have you offered her a hold of baby? Maybe that might change her attitude?

Has she seen LO without her fiancée there? I used to be a bit cautious of showing too much excitement/emotion to babies coz I was worried it might freak OH out or make him feel pressured.

it does seem a little rude.
maybe she wants a bub n he doesnt yet he loves your bub? i dont know  if she does it again, be like 'oh theres the door/microwave/ phone, can u hold him for a sec? and pass bub to her hehehehe

in my opionon she seems jelious that her fiance likes to play with ur baby i think she is just jelious and planing the wedding and if ur best friend is mucking around and playing with ur baby and not focusing on the planning of the wedding , thatll prob be pissing her off ..lmao such serious 24/7 bridzillas i say !

i thought the same!

Yeah deffo sounds like a bridezilla! Probably jealousy. You know what girls are like ;) xxx

Seems strange for a woman who works around children to be so cold? maybe shes in the wrong type of job :nope: . I've come accross a few people now who would make you wonder why on earth they chose to work with kids, perhaps its around adults that they are awkward and then come to life so to speak around children ....then there are others who just exude warmth and you can see they love childrens company.

I'm not sure if her irritation about her wedding plans etc are clouding her emotions around yourself but if they are she really should grow up

Personally there are some people I dont particularly like but when Im in their company and their children are with them I still make an effort and would never ignore a child...would go against my nature.

thats not just rude thats weird!

Sounds like jealousy to me...your best friend is playing with the baby and she doesnt like it which is sad

Maybe she is a little shy and is embarrased to do baby talk in front of you.

hmm if i'm in a really awful mood i don't look at babies because i'm wtt and it just upsets me, otherwise i think some people don't quite consider babies people so it wouldn't occur to them to interact with them if they don't feel like it
