Alfred 'Alifie' David arrived on 21st May. As team yellow, I was convinced he was going to be a girl and didn't even have a boys name picked until he was 4 days old.
After contracting at home from 3am, we arrived at the hospital at around 6.30pm. My waters had to break in the waiting room before the would check me as they were very busy and there was a queue. I was gutted to be told I was only 3cm at 7.30pm!
My water birth plan went out the window when they found I was very dehydrated and so had to be placed on a drip. After that, things picked up and, after a ventouse delivery due to him being in distress, he was born at 10.59pm.
Pretty much the opposite of my birth plan but I did manage it all on gas and air and I would do it all again for Alifie.
