It's a nightmare!

I have been waiting since may for an appointment following up my diagnosis of PCOS. Well i recieve ONE letter last week saying they were waiting to here from me My gp told me he had referred me and that they will be in touch with an appointment, yet the Gyne department says differently, apparently they have sent several letters out to me ( which i recieved one of). Stating they were waiting to hear from me to see if i still required the appointment, the letter i did get said i have 8 weeks to reply, i called today and they have taken me off the list as they assumed i didn't require the appointment

I am livid, they said i have to go back to my gp to be referred again as there is already a 12 month queue ahead of me.

I don't know what to do

Hiya, didn't want to read & run, I can only really suggest you keep on at them, go back to your doctors ask to be referred again, fully explain the situation, or keep on at the FS, it's not your fault you haven't recieved the letters! surely it's just a case of going through the process again, can you say that you're willing to travel to a further away clinic if neccesary?

That is riddiculous!! how can they do that...take it you're talking about the NHS!!

Try going to see your doctors again and see if they can fast track you in some way with the consultant..it sounds like its their cock up so they shouldnt make you wait even longer. I can imagine how frustrated you must be...Ive been waiting for my next appointment to come through for just over a week and thats driving me crazy already. Its horrible waiting for a letter that you arent sure is ever going to arrive!

i would fight it all the way if i were u! they must have a complaints proceedure if they do def use it...
in the mean time defo make an app with ur gp and tell them what has happened and hopefully they'll b able to help xx

I phoned my gp today who kindly called me back, they said theres a waiting list and people infront of me and i have to wait like everyone else xxx

My gp said that the clinic has atleast a 12 month wait and they will want to examine me again to confirm pcos when its already been confirmed now twice with scans!! they dont know what they are doing?! one nurse told me i might not need metformin sometimes PCOS can cure itself if left ? what the hell? xx
