Went for my follow up scan yesterday to check on low lying placenta with a maternal fetal specialist and he confirmed my Drs suspicions that it looked like placenta accreta. Very serious condition where the placenta fuses to the uterine wall and causes hemorrhage upon delivery. Now I'm having my third csection so I could care less about a vaginal delivery. However I'm facing a possible hysterectomy if they can't stop the bleeding. No major issue there as it's our third and we're done but I'm just so pissed about this. What a silly problem to have. Now I have to spend the next 4 months worrying about it. Thank the heavens for my OB who is just incredible and caught this condition as of 10 weeks pregnant! He saw the red flags and is taking all the pre cautions possible for a safe delivery. The worst outcomes for accreta are those surprise cases where the Drs don't know until the patient haemorrhages during delivery. I'm greatful it was caught early and we can all be prepared but I am scared shitless. There may be a very slim chance that by the grace of God it won't turn out to be accreta but I think I'm clutching at straws... I posted about this previously and just updating after I met with MFS. Now the protocol is to keep watching it until delivery next appt is feb 9 ... So deshearted :(

As you said, at least they know ahead of time so that you and your baby are as safe as possible. I can't imagine how you feel right now but hopefully things go as best as they possibly can. It sounds like you have trustworthy people to take care of you and no matter what happens, this little baby is your gift. :) She will make it all better.

I'm so sorry to hear it is Accreata :( Good thing theybcaught it early. I hope you won't have any problems with it and not need a hysterectomy! And maybe there is a small chance a miracle happens and it won't stay that way! That would be best of course :):hugs::flow:

Thanks girls. I'm hoping for the best possible outcome. Such a stressful time xx

Dear Laila. It's okay to be upset & angry. I had a friend go through it and it wasn't easy. You'll have a team of doctors backing you up every step of the way. Don't let worry cloud you too much, it is not within your control. What is within your control is imagining happy outcomes, enjoying family time right now & treasuring the little life that is growing inside you.

I wish you good luck & hope the placenta doesn't fully lodge itself. X

What a sweet message. Thank you so much. I'm trying to be positive I just don't see it ending well unless they are completely wrong and what are the chances of that? :( I'm doing my research and found a dr that specializes in just that. So i may transfer over..

Sorry to hear this Laila, I was hoping you'd have an easy rest of pregnancy after the HG :( Still its good that they have spotted it early. :hugs:

Do whatever makes you the most comfortable :) If you think switching over would help in the end then go for it

I think a specialist is a good idea! Also to get a second opinion and just to know a bit more of what you are dealing with!
It seems like you are being taken care of well. I hope your family can comfort you and help you through dealing with all of this.
