Went for my follow up scan yesterday to check on low lying placenta with a maternal fetal specialist and he confirmed my Drs suspicions that it looked like placenta accreta. Very serious condition where the placenta fuses to the uterine wall and causes hemorrhage upon delivery. Now I'm having my third csection so I could care less about a vaginal delivery. However I'm facing a possible hysterectomy if they can't stop the bleeding. No major issue there as it's our third and we're done but I'm just so pissed about this. What a silly problem to have. Now I have to spend the next 4 months worrying about it. Thank the heavens for my OB who is just incredible and caught this condition as of 10 weeks pregnant! He saw the red flags and is taking all the pre cautions possible for a safe delivery. The worst outcomes for accreta are those surprise cases where the Drs don't know until the patient haemorrhages during delivery. I'm greatful it was caught early and we can all be prepared but I am scared shitless. There may be a very slim chance that by the grace of God it won't turn out to be accreta but I think I'm clutching at straws... I posted about this previously and just updating after I met with MFS. Now the protocol is to keep watching it until delivery next appt is feb 9 ... So deshearted
