baby hasnt been diagnosed with it. but they're worried that she has stopped growing since she had the same measurments as she did 3 weeks ago at my last growth scan. so now i have to go every thursday to my specialist for scans, and i see my OB every monday for non-stress tests. which i'll also do one on thursday when i see the specialist. the stress tests have been good. i've only had two. but my question is. when did they finally decide to diagnose your baby with IUGR. how many growth scans did they go to? the specialist said they're worried my placenta isnt letting nutrients pass through for her to grow properly. i'm not super worried that it is IUGR since they suggested to increase my protein and reduce my carbs (i have GD). and they'll see how much she's changed since thursday.

I had a ton of growth scans, but none after thirty six weeks. Or maybe it was thirty four. I did have two non stress tests a week from thirty six weeks to thirty eight and a half weeks when they jumped up to almost daily. Good luck!

DD1/Angel DS had IUGR/fused placenta previa w/twin loss. I kept having scans done but it wasnt seen (the IUGR) until later, after the placenta previa was found.

I found out after Wylder (the baby we lost) the confirmation of blood issues to and from the placenta, but knew it was an issue after DD1/DS. It explains every loss and pregnancy/placenta issue.

I had scans every week and NST every 3 days from week 32 to 34 when they decided that the placenta was ractically shot and AF down to 4cm. I was booked for c-section the next day and everything was ok. She spent 2 weeks in SCBU and we went home as soon as she could take all her fedings from the bottle. Good luck and try not to worry!

not sure what l can help with but want to send you tonnes of :hugs: and pray that all will be well with your little one

as l too am stressing that this one is going to be iugr - so having a few growth scans, had one last week and all was on track for now, but going to ask for a sooner one again before the 36wk which they said the next scan should be :dohh:

wishing you all the best :hugs:

my next growth scan is thursday, a day before i turn 34w. today at my BPP her AF was 11cm. which is good. but i got 6/8 on my BPP, she got 0/2 on breathing. then i had my NST right after and she almost failed that. i'm hoping she'll be more active on thursday.

my baby has IUGR, she is in the 5th percentile. I have growth u/s's every 3 weeks but an u/s every week. The non growth ones are to measure fluids. I also have 2 nonstress tests a week. we are continuously failing nst's so we have had a few bpp's done as well.

i had 1 growth scan 3 weeks ago. then i had my second one last week. thats when they discovered she didnt grow in those 3 weeks. i have NSTs every 3 days. the two i had last week were good. but the one i had today i almost failed. my fluids today measured 11cm. so now i just have to wait and see how things look at my growth scan on thursday (one week from my last one).

did they tell you if/when they were gonna induce or have a csection. or are they just watching to make sure it doesnt get bad. i know a mom that was due in may with us was pregnant with twins and one twin had IUGR. they had her in the hospital and was monitoring the baby almost daily. she went about a week until they ended up doing a csection at 28w.

11cm is really good! I don't know how they do things for just IUGR babies. My LO's IUGR is connected to a condition with her umbilical cord, Single Umbilical Artery. Instead of having two arteries taking blood to her through the cord, she only has one.

They are telling me that as long as things don't go into a 'crisis mode' and she stays head down, they will let me attempt a vaginal birth.

Don't stress out about failing the NST's. Often it's because the baby is asleep or just waking up. I've failed several and almost failed even more. That's what the bpp is for. As long as LO passes the bpp's, you're good. We almost failed one of those, they just sent me to the hospital to do another NST 6 hours later, and then another bpp.

I know it's hard, trust me I know, but try not to over stress.

Have they given you an estimated weight for your LO?

yeah i'm trying not to worry too much yet since it was the first NST i almost failed. and i know it was just because i ended up being hungry by the time they did it.
i had my first growth scan at 29+6. then one at 32+6. they didnt tell me her estimated weight for the first growth scan. but the second one she was 3lbs 11 oz and they said that she hasnt grown since the first growth scan. so i'm assuming she was around 3lb 11 oz at the first one too. the only thing they suggested was to increase my protein and reduce my carbs to see if that helps her gain some weight. so we'll see how much she's changed on thursday when i go for another growth scan. the doctor said he wont get too worried until 35-37 weeks if she still isnt putting on weight.

My little princess got diagnosed iugr sometime between 23 and 25 weeks. Her growth has been falling off the curve (12% at 19 weeks, 9% at 23 weeks, 4% at 25 weeks, and 2% this past scan). I think the discord between her head growth and the rest of her is what made them diagnose her. Her head is perfect (well... it's at the 11%) but the rest of her is either <1% or 2%.
Three nst's a week, and 2 afi/dopplers. I've been told to expect a section at or before 32 weeks.
My mfm said that as long as things like fluid, and dopplers and nsts stay stable and normal, even if she doesn't grow, they won't take her out before they have to. The did say they wouldn't let her stay in past 36 weeks, because the risk of complications increases closer to term with iugr babies.
Here's hoping your little one grows!! Sending you lots of growing vibes :)

did they tell you if/when they were gonna induce or have a csection.

I was just told yesterday that if my fluids drop below 5 or I reach 39 weeks, whichever comes first, I will be induced. if I haven't had her yet that is.

they didnt do the growth scan yesterday since it had only been a week since my last one. so i'll have one done at 36 weeks to see how much she's changed over 3 weeks. they didnt say what they would do if she hasnt changed. i guess i just have to wait and see. but i still have BPPs and NSTs twice weekly to monitor every else. so if those stay good i'm gonna assume they're not gonna jump to any conclusions until i have the growth scan.

I had a severe case of iugr - was detected at 20 weeks, then got progressively worse. I ended up having a planned c section at 27 weeks. My little guy was so small their best ultrasounds couldn`t estimate his weight properly. He was born under the 2nd percentile. He was in NICU for 3.5 months but he`s fine now.

If the head is measuring bigger than the body, that`s a good sign - it means the bloodflow is being sent to the brain - that and the heart are prioritized, so the rest of the body develops a bit slower. Amazing for such little guys huh ;) My specialist said that is what saved my son. He had the body of a 23 weeker but his head measured at 27 weeks.

Try not to worry, it sounds like you`re in good hands. You can come visit the preemie section to chat with other moms that gave birth at different weeks *hugs*

from week 20 I had loads of fetal monitoring scans then from week 24 i had a scan every fri and CTG every mon and fri and then from week 26 (I think) I had a scan and CTG every mon and wed. I had at the most 5cm of AF and Ellie was always below the 0.4 centile and still is

Any questions just ask xx
