*gulp* First post! Just wanted to see if anyone else had what might be my experience.

I had an ultrasound today to check on my eggs for our upcoming IUI (Wednesday morning). I only had one egg, even though I've been on Femara, so that was a bit disappointing, but my doctor said he still wants to go ahead with the IUI.

The thing that threw me was that he said I might have a uterine polyp. He said he couldn't tell right now, and he'll do a test where they put water in the uterus and then do an ultrasound on day 4 of my next cycle if I don't get pregnant, to check. If it IS a polyp and not just a shadow, I'll have to have surgery, 'cause he said I couldn't get pregnant if that's what it was.

Anybody else have this experience? Apparently when he went back and looked at my ultrasound from last month (which wasn't connected to an IUI cycle, just a general diagnostic one), he saw the same "shadow" but he didn't mention anything about it then, which is also frustrating.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and vent a little, and also see if anyone was doing an IUI right now!

I've had 2 iui and 1 ivf. When getting ready for ivf they did the ultrasound with saline and found polyps. The ultrasound can be a little painful take some Tylenol before. It only last a few minutes so just fight through it! I had the surgery it was completely fine. Went back to work the next day! No pain afterward at all. The day of surgery he gave me a pill to insert in me and was suppose to make me contract or losen me up so surgery wasn't so hard on my body. Those cramps were pretty intense. I am so so happy I took the time to do the ultrasound and get surgery done! Just had first ivf and got bfp! Might not have gotten it with the polyps I had. Good luck! Not as scary as ya think!

By the way when I did Femara with iui only 1 egg. Happens a lot on femera. Switched to clomid even though I have bad side effects and got 10 follicules!

Interesting that you had such a difference in number of follicles between Femara and Clomid! I was initially excited that my RE prescribed Femara 'cause I'd heard about lots of Clomid side effects (particularly emotionally - I already have anxiety and depression disorders so I wasn't keen on exacerbating those), but if there's that much difference in number of follicles, it might be worth it once or twice. Something to think about!
