iui and blocked tube

ive been reading up on iui and one site that ive been on ive read that you cant have iui if you have a blocked tube. im about to be referred for iui because my left tube is blocked. my consultant hasnt mentioned that i couldnt have it obviously. is this wrong or does he just not know what he is talking about?
im very confused.

If you have an open tube then I don't see why it wouldn't work. The cycle can be cancelled though if you are ovulating from your blocked tube. Good Luck!

i think its right to say that you ov from alternate sides each month. maybe what i was reading was referring to two blocked tubes.
