I would love any info on IUI as well. Just found out my DH has zero sperm count and Dr. talked to us about trying IUI

I did end up doing iui. Perfect follicle, lining, sperm count, and timing. Bfn.

have you received any more info? my DH and I just went to our fertility doc for our second apt yesterday and found out lots of sad news. DH has 0% morphology. Our doc said we can try IUI (for like $1000), but with 0% morphology IVF is more likely to work (but WAY more expensive- $15000). And hes said we have a 0% chance of conceiving naturally. I am debating to get a second SA to see how it comes out in a few months after he has been on his list of vitamins for a while. Doc told me with our situation and using IUI we have a 15% chance of conceiving with IUI (for "normal" couples with natural conceiving they have a 25% chance each month).

I read, and my dr said, that in the best circumstances, with perfect egg and sperm, iui is only 20%. I think it's worth a try, it is much cheaper. We pay out of pocket for everything. I'm not sure if I'll try it again. I think a second SA would help. I've improved my husbands SA greatly with supplements.

Thx. Ya with dh sperm issues I feel like its throwing away money. Are you trying naturally or ivf?

No ivf for me. I'll just try naturally for awhile. You might try a couple iuis first. There is a chance and its prob worth a try.

I have a son is 18 in 18 days.... We did our first iui in November. Clomid ovidrel bfn. Dh numbers 20 mill post wash. Is your hubby on any vitamins?

I plan to do more as soon as I heal from my surgery on Monday.

Yes he is on several vitamins and his post wash count at iui was over 200 mil w 95% motility. They couldn't believe how good it was. Still didn't work though. I'm kind of at the giving up point.

Jumping on this thread. I, too, was considering IUI, but they recommended donor sperm because my ol' man's was at 2.5 million. No bueno! My insurance covers IUI, so I thought we'd work on getting his sperm up, and then maybe try IUI, however, we're both 37, so time is no longer on our side.

Hello, I had my first round of IUI in January and just had my second with Clomid this month. On the 2ww now. We went for this as its cheapish and less intrusive than IVF (which we do next if this doesnt work). Fingers crossed we dont have to though.

This is my second cycle of Natural IUI & I'm waiting for the results next Thursday!

I would also say IVF makes more sense when you have O or next to no sperm. IUI wouldn't be worth it IMO.

I think it depends on your personal circumstances, my doctor has suggested 3 rounds, 2 of which with Clomid to help me ovulate and then move on to IVF if that doesnt work. IUI increases conception by a small percentage but we are hoping its useful with Clomid as its know to effect the natural ewcm.

my first two were natural conceptions, third a miscarriage been trying for 12 months, I have had two natural iui's , one with clomid, and one with clomid +ovidrel, but my lining got thin, hoping to stay with iui but go on to injectables

My husband and I have been trying for almost 2 yrs, and after starting to see a fertility specialist my result came back normal but my husband had low count 8million and 28% motility...not looking very good. After months of supplements his results are the same. The Dr has suggest IVF or IUI, obvisouly our chances are much great with IVF...but more costly. Not sure what to do, we are still trying to decide.

I am up for IUI any day now. I have been doing blood work since friday to determine when I will O. Today they did a screening and saw I have 4 mature follicles, but they are quite big already, so I am hoping I get in soon for the procedure. It sure is an emotional journey to begin with and tomorrow will be 5 days of blood work in a row, I am starting to look like a junkie! I am not counting on this first attempt to work with everything I have read online. It seems like 3rd time is the charm which wasn't my plan, but if it gets me a baby, then I will do it!
