I just want to know how many attempts at IUI it has taken people to get a BFP??

I'd love to know the same thing! I think I am going to try that route next cycle.

Yea Im hoping on being allowed it next cycle!

We have been TTC for 4 years without a single pregnancy. We have had all the tests and investigations done and there is nothing wrong with me but my husband has poor sperm. Ive just done my 1st month of clomide and pregnyl injection but I just honestly cant see the point? To me it is obvious what the problem is so why put me on the drugs? :growlmad:

How long have you been trying? If you dont mind me asking do you know what the problem is? :hugs:

I have been trying for 16 months. We have had all the tests except the lap, and they have all been normal. They are calling it "unexplained infertility" for now. AF came today, so tomorrow I call the fertility clinic, so they can call in Clomid and get the ball rolling.

I would love to know as well. I did 5 cycles with clomid resulting in 1 miscarriage and then 2 cycles of clomid + injectables, decent follies and nada. DH's sperm are fine too and all my tests come back ok. We are considering IUI for this cycle along with straight injectables.

hi i would love to know this too!! we are currently on cycle 16/17....have just finished 1st cyclee of 50mg clomid....due on wed but think af arrived early last night, altho spotting like usual :( started sun. have got a consultation with a specialist fertility center on 14th dec to discuss iui ?ivf...me & my dh were looking at the website & the success rates of the iui & ivf....iui was only 15%...ivf was 30%......think we were really shocked to be honest...its gonna be sooo expensive for not that high chance of getting preg :( but we have said we have gotta try it :) xx

We're starting our first IUI cycle this month (day one today after :witch: was 5 days late :growlmad:). Only went for our consultation to explain risks etc last week but asked what the success rate was and she said it was 33% (leaflet also says 33%). The success rate for trying naturaly is only 25% so it was really encouraging to hear there's a higher chance with IUI. Maybe the rate differs depending which PCT you're using? Starting 150mg Clomid tomorrow and trigger shot on 5th Dec so will keep you posted.

Smurfette, I am on CD1 today, too, and starting my first IUI cycle! Maybe we can be buddies!

Yay! I would love that!!!! Have you booked your scan?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Nope, no scan. I am paying this all out of pocket, so we are not doing anything extra. I am picking up my Clomid today, and taking it the 26th-30th of November. Then, I take OPK's and come in for the IUI the day after a color change. If no color change by Dec 7, I come in for IUI, anyway. Do you have to go for a scan?

Yeah, taking 150mg Clomid from tomorrow for 5 days then going in for a scan on day 11 to make sure the Clomid is doing it's job, trigger shot on day 12 then IUI on day 14 (trigger shot and IUI dependant on scan but if the Clomid hasn't worked they don't count this cycle as one of my 3 free cycles). Who are you going through? Can you not get IUI on the NHS or are you not in the UK?

Hi ladies :hi:

I just had my first IUI 6 days ago. No idea if it worked or not. I'll keep you all updated though!

Ooh brilliant! Really excited about IUI so will be fab to have some people going through the same thing at the same time. Fingers crossed for you sweetie!

Hi ladies!

I got my BFP on the second round of IUI after 2.5 years TTC and 6 rounds of clomid. I had IUI with Gonal and Ovitrelle trigger shot. We also had unexplained infertility although I wasn't ovulating every month and did have mild endo as well. I had no faith it would work but here I am waiting for my 20 week scan on Friday! Stay positive girlies!!

Word of warning, the month it didn't work I had a very very painful period which was really awful and I felt very depressed. If it doesn't work first time and you have these symptoms don't worry, I think its normal but is a bit of a shock at the time!

Will watch to see how you all get on...

Congratulations Millnsy!!!!! It gives me hope for IUI! You hear so many stories of people saying it doesn't work it's fabulous to hear from someone it has worked for. So pleased for you!!!!

thank you so much for sharing your story!! I have been feeling really down as my first cycle of clomid didnt end in a pregnancy altho i def did ov as had all the follicule scans.....on to 2nd cycle now.....we havent got much hope of it working now so we are going to pay privately for iui in the new year if it hasnt got me preg....we were looking at the success rates of both iui & ivf....my dh said its gonna be too much of a struggle to pay for ivf so iui is prob our only chance....i felt really disheartned after looking at the success rates of iui....they arent great but it obviously worked 4 u so well done!!! hopefully it will work 4 me & lots others too :) xx

I had my first IUI done this Monday Nov 23. Lately I've been feeling lots of pinching/cramps on my left ovary area. Unsure if this is a pregnancy symptom. I really hope the IUI works on my first try.

hi girls , can i ask you whose makes the decision for IUI , is it you or the consultant and is it all private/nhs
im due to start ivf in jan and dont know waht they will suggest to me
im ov but have 1 tube, maybe thats why they said ivf?

good luck to you all x
