and booked a private scan :)

It's next Saturday, when I will be 8 weeks.

Very nervous that it's either eptopic or there's nothing there / it's stopped growing :( but excited that I may potentially get to see our baby!

It will be at least 5 weeks from now until my 1st NHS scan - the last 2 weeks have felt like 2 months - and I just can't bear waiting that long.

I'd giving anything to hear a heartbeat and that everything's ok :baby:

It's £75 (includes DVD, images and report).

I just need to know either way. If it comes back ok then I can hopefully relax a little, if it's not good news then I'd rather know about it and deal with it now than wait until I'm 12+ weeks.

Aw lovely. Wish hubby would agree to us having one

Mine would be happy to wait for the 12 week NHS one but think he's getting a bit bummed out by me keep starting every baby / pregnancy related conversation with with 'If it turns out I am growing this baby properly....'

I'm normally so laid back and carefree!

Sending lots of baby dust and hope everything goes well and you hear a healthy strong heartbeat :)

good on you, i gave in and it was the best thing i did ( had a scan at 9week 6 day)

everything was fine and i promised myself no more worrying unless i bleed.

it really gave me peace of mind :)

Thanks you, that's what I need! I have had no bleeding or cramps but just need some peace of mind - being pregnant has turned me into a complete worry-wort! Roll on next Saturday now... We're away with friends next week so hopefully that will take my mind off things in the meantime. Compared to 5 weeks, 8 days will hopefully fly by!

Im the same and have started say 'if' im pregnant and hubby keeps having to tell me that i am. A scan would let me know for sure but then id prob start worrying again perhaps a few days after the scan anyway.
I will prob wait until nhs scan but im not sure yet.
Good luck with your scan xxx

I read somewhere (no idea if it's true though!) that if you hear a heartbeat at 8 weeks, your chances of the pregnancy continuing are 98%. Assuming that's true and everything goes well next Saturday I'm hoping an early scan will help relieve some of my anxiety and let me start enjoying the pregnancy.

FX! X

It will be fine, you will see your baby and wonder why you got so stressed!:winkwink:

I'm so impatient this time, I've only known a week but it feels like I've known for months! I wish I could get an early private scan, but I'm toying with the idea of getting a gender scan at 16 weeks and no way would hubby agree to 2 extra scans especially at the cost lol

Good luck with your scan hun - i know its a long wait though! itll reassure you loads though :D xx

I agree that it does make you relax a bit! I booked mine.and had it at 10+0, and my nhs scan was today, almost 3 weeks later. I dont think I could have waited that long!

good luck for next week, and look forwars to hearing your good news!

Btw, thats a great price! Mine was 67.50 and i got 4 pictures =)

Thanks! How did your scan go today? Did you get to see much at your 10 wk scan?

I don't blame you, I've already booked mine. Lol. So OH couldn't argue I've booked it as a bit of a birthday present to him. I've still got another 3 weeks to wait for mine though, feels like that'll take forever to get here!!

I was going to book in for an early scan, like yourself I couldn't wait but because I have irregular cycles my midwife is sending me for a dating scan next week. But my point (lol) is I found a great place in Yateley (Berkshire area) that does a scan for £35!!! It's only 10 minutes but if all you want is peace of mind then this is your place! Lol! If anyone wants the website let me know!

Good luck for your scan, look forward to seeing some Piccys!

Wowzers - £35 is a bargain! The place I've booked with is in Reading but I'm Newbury area so Bracknell isn't too far from me at all, I may see what availability they have instead - can you post their website address please? Thanks!
