I express and bottle feed my son who is a month tomorrow. I've had a bit of tugging sensation high up almost my in my armpit when I pump and started to notice a little pain next to my nipple. I had a warm bath and kept pouring warm water over it whilst massaging (in case of a blockage) and have noticed a lump almost behind my nipple. Is this a blockage or somthing a doctor should check?

I don't really want to go to the go as I've already been a lot before with gallbladder problems, and my son has already been three times in his tiny life for reflux. He might just think I'm a loonie! Help please xxx

Could be a clogged duct. I had that in the first month and sounds like a similar feelong (especially the tugging feeling). I tried just feeding first on that side for each feeding and did some massaging and it was gone in a few days. If that doesn't work I'd call Dr. Better to be safe.
I've also heard heat compresses work well too.

I second previous poster. Try to massage while feeding after lo slows down a bit

Sounds like a blocked duct. I'd try to pump a little extra on that side as well as massage under hot water whenever you can manage. It's worth a visit to the doctor if it becomes extremely painful or you start to feel ill as blocked ducts can turn into mastitis pretty quickly.

Thank you. It seems to have been a blocked duct. Pumped extra on that side for a day then had a few hot baths which seems to have cleared it. Still get the horrid pulling sensation in my arm pit though. No idea why that happens xxx
