I would ask about a dummy but i think you said she dosent like those right ?

I'm starting to think it'll never stop. It feels like such a step in the wrong direction to push a dummy on her (she doesn't want one atall) but I'm getting a little tired of it 10 months on Monday!

can you tell when its just a comfort suck ? maybe try to discourage her from using you as a dummy ?

Yeah I can tell.. She just won't let me stop though.. I've let her get away with it all the time, and taking it away from her seems soooo mean when she won't understand why

Well obviously it was a lot easier for me to cut out the comfort sucking because my baby was younger and more impressionable but I have to say after about a fortnight he would only look for me when he was actually hungry, and the very odd time when he wanted something to suck to help him burp (doesn't do that now.) So you could try it if you wanted to.

Its normal you will feel mean but your not hun , its called independence and we all have to show our Lo's how to go about it , in her eyes she dose not know what your doing , so when you do something you think is wrong she wont know or care ..she may get fussy but shes old enough to start learning about limits ..

yes mums are always there but we need some " us" time too for our sanity.. when she comfort sucks can you distract her with a toy or a cookie (finger foods )

If you want her to stop it's only as mean as when we take a dummy away. If you think it's ok for a 10 month old to have a dummy then it's only the same thing, surely?? I appreciate it's not as conveinient but if it were me I'd wean her off boob comfort when youre ready, rather than teach a replacement then have to wean off that in time IYKWIM.

I don't really have a problem with it.. but I do miss spending time with Rich. At first it wasn't a problem atall, it still isn't on his part, he understands, but I'm starting to get down about it. I wish she would sleep on her own so atleast I could have a cuddle with Rich before bed without a baby attatched to me. That sounds selfish doesn't it.

When she's asleep! The past two nights were fine untill midnight but tonight she only lasted two hours and I want to cry

Its definately not selfish... I know the night cuddles are nice, but iff you feel its time to move on so you can get quality time with Rich... I know its hard with a baby, my only alone time with my OH is at night when Jasmine is in bed!

Maybe rich can get into a lil daddy & daughter routine ? I dont know if hes okay with it as some guys well dont like sappy stuff ..but DH usually takes max after his nightly bottle and goes on the rocking chair with him ..if he falls asleep then great if not he will just talk to him and make him relax .

Is caitlyn comfortable with rich ?

EDIT : for got to add MM is right about the dummy situation , weather its the boob or the dummy your taking away it will look mean to them but this something that needs to be done

Feel a bit daft asking this but how do you differentiate between a comfort suck and actual feeding? I have a feeling Poppy uses me as a dummy sometimes, in the day not the night, as she will go for the boob when she is tired, suck for 5 mins and then fall asleep. Is that the same thing?

I knew because my son would suck harder the normal and faster then when he was drinking

Hebe's comfort suck is more like a gentle quiver. After a while it feels like it could make me sore.
