First let me apologize, as i see no need to use (most) abbreviations. Once you reach out to others on the internet about sex it kinda all goes out the window and i have a hard time keeping track of some of them on occasion :)

DH and i have been TTC for 13 months now. We did clomid for only 2 cycles almost a year ago. We were both tested, and we are fine. We did OPK's for awhile as well until things began to get crazy with our half way across the country move, so for the past oh, 6 months we've just "tried" to conceive . Every once in awhile we've done something else such a pre-seed or mucinex, and i have the FF app but i haven't paid for it. I have never taken my temp, never charted and just generally kept an "eye" on things so we'd have a pretty good idea of when things should be happening.

I had a story in the thread about "it'll happen when you quite trying" and it seems the general consensus was the same "how do i QUIT trying ?". My belief on this is that you cant, and sure you can get pregnant if you just have sex whenever, everyone has that chance, but if you WANT to get pregnant then you have to TRY. So this morning i had a shift in perspective !

For the past 13 months we have been "trying" but not really doing much about it, and as we actively want a baby (as opposed to, hey if it happens we're ok with that !) then i dont feel i have much reason to be upset every month with i think im late and i start peeing on sticks only to be terribly disappointed when my period shows up later that day or the next . I have a prescription for both Clomid and Metformin, and currently im due to ovulate on Valentines Day. As the Metformin gives me diarrhea i didn't think i needed to add that to my 103 fever and my newly ruptured ear drum, but since when my next cycle starts the end of the month we'll be using Clomid, i think it's time to buckle down.

Like i said ive seen people saying they're becoming too obsessed with charting and temping and so on and so forth, and while sex is times that doesn't mean it has to be a chore, my DH is NOT dying that he HAS to have sex with me every day for a week, and in fact he got none last week due to my illness, so he's excited ;)

Sorry i got off track... .so my next cycle we're doing it all. I bought a Basal thermometer today and tomorrow i will be temping, i will be charting and paying for the FF app (unless someone can advise another app, perhaps where you pay one time and it's paid for and works well ?), i will be starting the Metformin again ASAP, ive been on my prenatal vitamins and i ordered both more Pre Seed and OPK's and soft cups, i will be taking the Mucinex as well.We will be doing everything we can in order to conceive, and really making sure we have the best possible chances.

While i can understand this is going to drive me slightly crazy, i feel it's the best way to "stack the cards in our favor" so to speak. We've done what needed to be done, testing etc so now the only thing we can do is WORK to conceive, instead of idly trying.

Anyone else felt this way, or the opposite way i mentioned above ?

I use the My Days app. It's a free app and it works for IPhones and Androids devices. I have been using it longer than FF an I like it just fine. :)

I am in the same position as you. For 3 years dh and I have had unprotected sex, but didn't have a lot of regular sex... it was ,maybe 1-2 times a week... usually less. For the past 3 months (this is our 4rd month trying) I've been a crazy lady baby making machine. Opks, temping, cm, using off, pressed.. the works. I'm torn with what approach I should use. I get anxiety easily and get very coo coo if things are not "in control" or going my way. For the past 3 months I've been BUMMED to get my period. Like... I could cry I'm so heart broken and pissed off. So I decided to pull back the reins a bit. I scaling back a bit on my crazy ttc antics. Not opks. NO testing with hpts early. Just generally "trying" just not being crazy. Hope it gives you comfort you are not alone... :hugs:

I think this is going to be big for you!! :) Suggestions: drink more water to help with CF. I know the clomid can dry things up, so the Mucinex might help that too. Doing it every other day, night of the positive OPK, and the next day (or two). You want to give the sperm a chance to mature a little, so when the egg ruptures from the follicle there are mature, robust sperm waiting. Some people argue this, but I do a 20 min hip tilt after sex on the important days. Like put a pillow or two under my hips, laying on my belly. After 15 min the semen liquifies and the sperm can enter the EWCF more easily. Worked twice so far. Best time to take OPKs is between 2-4 pm. Do not worry too much about diluted urine. The whole test would be lighter, but if its positive it will still show. I've done a lot if research on this so if I can answer any questions or help in any way, let me know!

How long are your cycles?

Also, there isn't really a need to pay for FF. The basic stuff is all the same. The paid version means you can obsess a little more. ;)

about 30 days but they seem to be spot on 28 days on the clomid. Like i said this month is a wash but i did take Mucinex earlier with a nearing positive OPK but honestly i am still SO sick i looked at the test and said "crap ok come on", he laughed and said it would be ok. I may feel a bit better later tonight if my meds kick in lol.

I just read something about having your DH drink something caffeinated 30 min before bd-ing. Worth a try? And pos opk, YES! Feeling super crappy, NO!

DH and I were doing the "not try but not prevent" thing for a few months but now we are going full force. Temping, vitex, preseed, red raspberry leaf, soft cups, etc. I feel like it's SO much but I want to see the :bfp: hopefully soon.

What is mucinex used for while ttc??

Mucinex thins the cervical fluid so sperm can get through easier i think.... but what is red raspberry leaf? and what is it for?

My and my husband have been NTNP for about 8 months now. We have had alot going on with custody battles and trying to get the adoption of our little girl pushed through, so we didnt need the added stress of trying added to our plates... My doctor destroyed that plan when he told me without medication my body will not ovulate so we can not prevent all we want its not gonna happen unless we try. So we decided if we are gonna try we are gonna jump in with both feet.

We were mostly trying until our move, then it's been sorta "eh", my mother, and my 2 BFF both agree with me (one's pregnant, one has an 8 month old and found out she's pregnant lol - oops). My SIL TTC since her first child was born, as she has one totally blocked tube, their trying was timed sex. It took them 14 months and they got pregnant again. We have no real issues to speak of so going on 13 months it's time to legitimately TRY and do everything we can and KNOW we've done everything we can for at least 6 months, and then we can go from there

Also i bought Pink Pad (i can't remember if i said this) for $1.99 on Apple store, so im ok with that. I feel like i did something because i paid for it but i didn't pay a fortune lol

The softcups and Pre Seed will be here tomorrow if not today, but i think we're going to skip everything this month except for BDing, like said, and gear up for next month

Btw it turns out i felt so horrible from the Tramadol and the Augmentin, i took just Augmentin today and i feel much better. My ear still hurts but i dont feel like i want to vomit so today i owe him ;) Plus we BD on Sunday, skipped Monday, we really should at least tonight and Thursday. I also had him pick up the Walgreens brand of OPK, i took both my Clinical Guard (internet brand) and Walgreens OPK's this morning, sure enough finally saw a faint line on the Clinical Guard, pulled out the one from yesterday and there was the line, probably took 20 min to develop ! I like the Walgreens brand better as the test line always comes up right away. It's still lighter than the control but i'd be willing to bet i surge tonight or tomorrow morning :)

red raspberry leaf is suppose to strengthen your uterus lining to help implantation.

How much metformine are you on? I was meant to take mine AM but changed it to PM because of the diarrhea and at least if I do have it I am at home and comfortable.

1500 mg per day, i have to take it 3 times a day. The good news is that im not working so i can be home and mostly comfortable lol. I do have to drive to drop my son off and pick him up for school (it's a private school with no bus service) and of course run errands but i can mostly get around it. What NO ONE told me was Metformin helps aid in weight loss ! I can't believe NO ONE (not even my father, who is a Dr and i discussed this with a year ago) told me this ! I might have been willing to deal with the side effects ! lol

BFN today with AF due monday, Tues or Wed so we're starting in on this whole thing this month.

Anyone else into full on trying with me ? We prefer to think of it as "stacking the deck as much in our favor as possible" lol
