does anyone know if any insurances cover any cost for IVF/ICSI treatments in canada?

Quebec does. I believe Ontario will fund one IVF cycle if it's due to blocked tubes? Manitoba has a tax credit for it. As for all the other provinces, nada. :(

I'm lucky to have great med coverage that if we had to go the IVF route that at least that $5000 worth of drugs will be considerably less.

Yeah I know ohip covers 3 ivf if you have blocked tubes, my hunny has insurance through his work and hope they can cover some

Wow, 3 cycles is awesome. Really wish Alberta would get with the program. :( Even if they just start by funding IVF for those with blocked tubes. That would be huge.

Ontario will cover a portion of IVF and that is only if your tubes are both blocked. They cover $3000 and my clinic charges $5800. That's not including drugs or other charges like sperm washing...

thanks, can you answer another question for me, i see people on here who the 1st attempt failed and go on to a second, is it 5800 each cycle you try?

I'm not really sure. I'm just going by a chart on the fertility clinics website.

Just in case you want to look

oh yeah thats where i go aswell, you msg me a little while ago saying that lol

Oh yeah now I remember you lol. I have no idea how they work. I just hope it doesn't come to that. I am going there tomorrow for an ultrasound and then I have my second appointment to go over my tests next week.

Who is your doctor? Mine is dr. Ewaschuk and I love him.

I'm going in today aswell my appt is 8:10 and my
Dr is dr lee. I haven't got to that point either, but I like to know how everything works so if it comes to that I know. I know it isn't a great way to think, but I can't help it lol

My appointment was at 740. I got there around 730 got my blood done and had my ultrasound and then was out of there by 815ish. I just missed you lol.

This is my first month going to the clinic, so I have to go see doctor E next week to go over all of my tests. They have all come back normal so far. However, Dr. E did say once that my follicle was growing slowly, but I ovulated yesterday.

I really hope that you don't need IVF or any other expensive treatment. FX'd you get your BFP soon. :dust:
