Hi Ladies

Im trying to find information regarding IVF in Australia. Its all confusing and cant get the answers Im looking for. :dohh:

Does anyone know how it works there? I am an Aussie, im thinking about going back home if all doesnt go to plan here in London.

Thanks

I'm in Australia and doing IVF. Let me know any questions, i'd be happy to answer/help in anyway I can :)

Just to give you a very brief run down...

1. You need a referal to a specialist and your GP will generally do at least 2 SA's on your DH and a 21 day prog test on you.

2. Specialist will do further testing if necessary, definitely a SCSA (advanced sperm test) on your DH, they'll want you to have a pelvic ultra sound and may want to do a lap + dye if you haven't already had this done and depending on other test results.

3. Once all that is out of the way it all moves very quickly. Most clinics require you to pay upfront (i'm with Sydney IVF and I highly recommend them) just before you start stimming. Medicare covers a fair whack of it once you're over the safety net. So once all tests and appointments have been done to determine the protocol they'll put you on, you can start as soon as you're ready.

Thank you for your reply, Im going to look into Sydney IVF.

Good luck with your cycle, sending baby dust your way.
