Hi Ladies,

Has anyone experience of IVF in Kent area (North Kent/ London borders)

I've got 2 more cycles of Clomid and then my consultant has advised that IVF is our next step....seems I'm a bit in the "unexplained" camp because although I've had cysts on my ovaries I don't have the full gamut of PCOS symptoms...

Would I go to my GP about being put on the waiting list (i've had all manner of blood tests/ ultrasounds/ lap and dye and DH had SA etc) and is there any protocol for the waiting list (I'm 34 next week  so time is ticking on!)

Thanks!

Hi Bexy, I am in the Kent area and would be interested to know if anyone has had any experience of IVF or IUI in our area.

I have a hosp appt on Monday and think that they are going to say that IUI is our next step.

Hi Hayley - fingers crossed someone comes along soon and gives us some info ;)

I have checked on my local councils website which directs you to the Primary Care Trust but that's where it all gets a little hazy - if I've read one document correctly it appears my PCT provide 3 trys of IVF or IUI (3 in total not 3 of each) so really hoping this is correct!

I'd also like to know what the waiting list times are like etc

Questions, questions!!!! :)

I'd be interested in anyone's experiences of waiting times for IVF in Kent - I'm in Sevenoaks.

Patients in Kent are now entitled to a total of two cycles of IVF/ICSI. This includes a total of 4 embryos transfers (but no more than two fresh transfers).

There are a number of eligible criteria including how long couples have been trying, that is three years if no undelying problem has been identified, age of women (39 yo), BMI between 19-29, and no previous children from neither partner.

If you are already under the care of a consultant, he/she will refer you directly to the fertility clinic. Waits are not too long I believe (under 18 weeks).
