My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 5 years. We have had 5 failed IUI's all were with injectables. 3 days before I was supposed to have my beta after the last IUI cycle I happened to call my RE to get some information on IVF. I was VERY lucky, they had IVF grant money available to people who have had 4 or more failed IUI's. It's all based on income so you only have to pay a portion of what the total cost would normally be and EVERYTHING else is covered including monitoring and medications. So I was lucky enough to recieve this grant and we just started the cycle not even a week after I found out about the grant. And we only have to pay $1500 total for the entire thing.

So my question is has anyone else had any success with the IVF the first try? I have PCOS which I take metformin for, stage II endo, and sadly they like to classify me as overweight! My DH has had the SA done and it comes back super awesome!! My RE has told me that my DH is so fertile that he's jealous.

Any input would be great!! :)

Hi - I too am waiting to be referred for ivf! So i haven't a success story to share but i saw no one had replied yet so thought i'd just reply and wish u the best of luck with you ivf treatment!!!

Good luck xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

thanks for your replies. I'm hoping IVF works for us as well as you!!

I know a lot of ladies on here who have been lucky on the first try with ivf... So it can work! It deffo has much higher success rate than iui... A lot of factors need to be taken into consideration incl age, reason for infertility etc.... But it also involves a big dose of Luck!!!!

Just wanted to say good luck!

Kazzab25 - your signature is just me! I have PCOS, husband has (very) low count, motility & morphology & we have done 3 pointless months of unsuccessful clomid & are now desperate to get started with ICSI! Good luck to you too!

Hiya mrs b, wow cant believe I have finally met someone who is in the exact same boat as me! Would be nice to keep in touch and share advice!! When do you start icsi?

Good luck Hun xx

Yes it really would be. I don't know yet, we were diagnosed on my private healthcare but that didn't cover the treatment so my private doc referred me to see him for ICSI on the NHS & prescribed me 3 months of clomid to take while I wait cos why not?! Then, the appointment came through sooner than we thought & I didn't see him, I saw his registrar. She just said to take the 3 rounds & then come back for a follow up. I'm now impatiently waiting for that follow up!! Desperate to get started as its clearly never going to happen naturally. I'm on my first non clomid cycle & i'm spotting & cramping & it's only day 18. Roll on ICSI! Have you started yet? Xxx

Hiya! Can't you call back and see if you can speak to your dr see if you can scrap the clomid? But if not as they say it only takes one good one, dies your oh smole mine did and when he gave up in the first three months his count doubled!

I've stated my icsi cycle I'm just down regging at the moment! It's not going quick enough !!!
