Sooo this is my birth story... Due to health risks to myself I went in on Tuesday at 39+6 to be induced had Prostin pessarie at 10am and was contracting by 11 not painful but there was checked at 4 dilated to 2cm contractions were 3 in 10 but still uncomfortable rather than painful. Checked again at 8 and no change to cervix infact mw wasn't even sure I was 2cm anymore after lots of umming and ahhing (I have had a previous none progressive labour that went on 5 days) docs decided to AROM then after 2 hours give syntocinon, well my lord my contractions were of the ctg chart soo strong yet 2 hours later still no cervical changes I asked if we could wait a little longer for drip as contractions were so painful already and as I can't have epi I was unsure how I'd cope with the pain of synt induced ones... Midnight still no cervical change was given diamorphine as they prepared the drip then next thing you know 20 minutes later the urge to push mw was telling me not to and they wouldn't check cervix but I ignored and when they looked sure enough 10cms before they'd put the drip in from 12 til 2.29 I'd gone from 2cm to 10cm and out in 4 pushes!!! He was born 7lb believed to be at least 3 weeks overdue his skin is like a prune and scarlet red and my placenta was beginning to break up but he is perfect in everyway
