i dont think i will have time to make joshuas dinners.

if we ate more veg he could ust have some of our mashed but we dont have much at all and im thinking if he has jars he will get more of a selection of food.

what would you go for, jars or homemade?

if jars, what jars do you use?

Jars , we did do homemade but Ella just wouldnt take.
I give ella 'ellas kitchen' or 'organix'.

thanks kay.

i know jars will be more easy but i dont know if ill feel guilty for giving him jars,i guess he can have some of our when we have somethig he can have.

hes still only on baby rice at the moment but when i put him on to veg and fruit can i just use jars straight away?

usually jars have a few different flavours.

I did start to make some meals - still do, but I also use Hipp organic jars for the variety they can offer. It is so hard to make anything but veg or fruit purees at this age & I think it is difficult to get a variety of tastes otherwise.

What you can do is mix a little of the fruit or veg into the rice so that it has a familiar taste & texture when you first start to introduce the fruit & veg. You can start with a little, then gradually add more of the fruit or veg until he is used to the taste. I still mix fruit with baby rice if he is having some as that is what Jack likes & I think the fruit can be a little harsh on its own, but he is now going onto stage 2 main meals.

we mainly do homemade, we eat a lot of veg and its easy for us.

but wobbles gave me some jars... cow&gate ones i think and ffion really liked those too.

Homemade would be ideal choice but just wasn't practical, everytime i spent a n hour making a batch of food i'd just get it thrown back in my face but with a jar at least she ate it,

I've still got frozen food which i made in my freezer from when i started weaning at 6months, 4 months later its not been touched, she eats what we eat, which is great, no mashing or pureing, do whats best for you...x

I make some homemade and some bought ..

the bought ones are all organic beech nut, heinz or gerber

im worried that jars will be too strong for him.
they say start with one flovour at a time but how can you with jars when they have about 3 different flavours in one jar?

Caitlyn went from NO food to 3 meals a day from jars and she's fine x

these are the jars that Hipp do... you can see they have first tastes jars too

we will have to do both- there does not seem to be an awful lot of jars that are vegetarian so I will be doing my own 'meals' but using jars of 'pudding' stuff and occassionally meals. Thats the plan anyway!!

Not had a proper look yet, there may be more vegetarian options than I think!

amy are you veggie then or just want to bring up chloe as a veggie?

we're both veggie so when she eats with us it will be a vegetarian diet so we may aswell start it straight away

i agree that there are not many veggie options, i tend to make veggie dinners and use jars for puddings.

we hardly eat meat in our house as only my husband likes it. we occasionally give rhys meat but hes only had it a handful of times

Jasmine has mostly home-made but will have jars of we are out

i do both :D when im having mashed potatoe he has it if i have anything i can mash and he can eat ill try him with it .. atm he likes beans for some odd reason lol

Hey hun. If you dont have time to make Joshua's food each day, its super easy to do a big batch at the beginning of the week and freeze them in ice cubes then put them in zip-loc baggies in the freezer. I dont have time either to make Erica a seperate dinner most nights, so if we aren't having a veggie or something that she will like, I pop a couple ice cubes in the microwave and shes got dinner. It saves me sooo much time!
Remember tho, there is nothing wrong with jars either! You do whatever is best for you and your family. :hugs:
