and everything is going slowly but ok.

Had a bit of a horrid day yesterday. His oxygen and heartrate had kept dropping during the night so by the time i got there yesterday, he was back in an incubator.

They had done his bloods and gases to check for infection but they were perfect and they did a chest xray which was ok.

It was concluded that he needed his caffine back and they have dropped his feeds back to 2hourly to give him a rest.

I tried to give him some bottle and he decided to stop breathing and go blue. It was pretty scary but he came round within a few seconds. I had a huge blub then and got lots of hugs off the nurses! They are angels.

Anyway, hes back in his cot now and staying on 2hourly feeds until tomorrow and then its a case of building back up to 4 hourly and starting again with bottles. He just hasnt grasped the breathing whilst sucking yet.

I keep getting reassured that its perfectly normal and that he will grow out of it, but sometimes it does get me (us) down as its hard work back and too to the hospital etc.... but hes gorgeous and i love him to bits:hugs:

Aww he is a cute little monkey, cant believe its been a month already hun

Hope he comes home soon

Aww bless sorry to hear of his setback.
He is a fighter and will be home before you no it :)

Thanks, it can get a bit frustrating. Its like one step forward, two steps back sometimes xx

bigs hugs to you sam, it must be so hard for the whole family :hugs: i cant believe Jenson is a month old already, time really is flying by. fingers crossed he will soon figure out the breathing and sucking thing and will be home where he belongs soon :hugs:

Oh so sorry it is so tough honey - it all might be normal but that doesn't make it any easy for you to see. Sounds like he is doing really well though hun and I am so pleased that all the nurses are so good and that both of you are being looked after well.

Take care hun and keep us updated,

:hugs:

Time sure does fly! I can't believe you've had him for a month already!

Sorry to hear about his setback - For some reason I thought he was already home with you! Must really be hard to have him there and all your other kids at home! I know you probably don't want to leave his side.... but its almost impossible not to!

Hope he continues to get stronger and gets to come home with you soon!

OMG! I cant believe its been a month already....must be time for some more pics :winkwink:

Sorry to hear he's had a little set back...he's obviously a little fighter though, must be as strong as the rest of his family...must be especially hard when you have 8 other children to worry about and having to split your time between home and hospital.

Glad you have great nurses there to look after you and jenson and hope he'll be allowed home soon xxxxx

I can't believe its been a month! big hugs :hugs: for all that happened last night. I really hope he's home with you soon xxx

Wow where did that month go? :wacko:Sorry to hear of Jenson's setback but he's doing fab and will be home before you know it. You're supermum to be splitting your time between the hospital and 8 other kids, it's bound to get to you sometimes but in a few months when he's into all kinds of mischief all this will seem like a lifetime ago :hugs:

Hope he's okay now sam. Aww can't believe he's a month old already! Can't wait to see some more pics of him x x

Sorry to hear about the set back, but he seems like a fighter. Hoping he's home with you soon.x

Aww, Happy 1 month baby Jenson. I am sorry to hear of his step back. He will get stronger and healthier as time goes by(which you have been through before so i know you know.)How big is he now? Here, they weigh the babies every day sometimes twice a day. I know that must have been scary. I know that if they just keep galping down and not breathing to try and rub his chest and take out the bottle. Sometimes blowing gently by there nose helps them remember to breathe as well. A tip i got from my NICU nurses. It works pretty well but i never had a baby under 32weeks so it can be different.

It seems like just yesterday you were telling us he was born. I can't believe a month has gone by! I hope the little guy doesn't scare you anymore and comes home really soon!

Wow can't believe he is a month old already! Hope the little monkey doesn't cause any more worry and that he keeps going from strength to strength.

awww happy 1 month to your sweet baby boy!

I know the NICU roller coaster all too well, as my little guy before this one, was born at 28 weeks.

It's a wild and scary ride, but you will pull through.

CONGRATS! He is a doll! ....hope all goes well for him~*

Oh Sam. I can't believe he is a month old already! Sorry to hear about his set back but I am sure he will be fighting fit and home soon. :hugs: Any more pictures.
