Evening,

This morning I had my NHS referral letter through, after months of having tests with the GP. Because I live on the edge of Warkwickshire/Northants/Oxford I have the choice of Northampton General or John Radcliffe Oxford.

Do any of you suggest/recommend one above the other?

I have read that I should expect a long wait but I would like to wait for the right place - even at the grade old age of 40!! (no previous kids)

Thanks for your help in advance...

I've heard good things about NGH - but i'm under KGH! Spoke to them several times as KGH have been a nightmare and NGH have always been super helpful and reassuring! I was actually due to switch to NGH after my last appointment but KGH have got there finger out and are doing what i want them to now.

I don't know anything about JR hopefully someone can give you more insight x good luck x

Hello! I'm being seen at northampton general with pretty regular appointments : ) I've not heard anything about Oxford so I won't be good in comparing sorry

But to give you an idea of waiting times I had my first appointment in November, a lap and dye in January, a three month break to see if I conceive naturally, went back for a scan, no problems so another 2 months of trying. Nothing happened but I've now been given clomid which is being monitored.

Hope that's of some help

Xx

Hi, we had a fantastic experience with the Oxford Fertility Unit (through JR). I wanted to go there as two friends had first time successes using the unit and the unit is linked to the JR. It took about 3 months from GP referral to be seen at the JR. Our NHS funding was approved in November 11 and we started treatment in January 12. The team at OFU were brilliant and I felt supported throughout the cycle. I am happy to say that we were very lucky and it worked for us and we now have a beautiful 7 month old baby girl. We can only conceive with ICSI so will be heading back to the unit for round two early next year.

Wishing you lots of luck whatever your decision.
x
