Johnson's Baby essentials

Oh god....... I didn't realise there was such an issue with Johnson products?

This is our first baby, and because Johnson's have been around for years, didn't really think there would be any problems.

Why are they still allowed to bee sold, without any warnings, if they cause this on newborns??

Maybe I will look into it a bit more before I use them...... Was gonna go get another box today, but don't think i'll bother!

I wont be using Johnsons but £5 is fab for all the bottles of stuff! Fab buy :cloud9:

We're going with old fashioned warm water and a bit of olive oil for the first few weeks

Thats what we be using since the incident, will wait till he's older before i use anything like that again x

I went up today to our asda, a few essensials boxes left but no moniters :(

I don't think Johnsons baby products affect enough newborns for them to recognise it as such an issue or to declare it as a health warning on their packaging, however it wasn't until I mentioned the cradle cap to my health visitor when my daughter was just a few weeks old that she then informed me that it's actually quite common for newborns to show reactions to many baby products (not just Johnsons) and she advised me to use olive oil as a moisturiser instead for the few months and even to do away with baby wipes and use cotton wool and water instead.
So don't be put off buying Johnsons just be aware that in the first few weeks or months if you do use shampoo/bath wash or moisturiser etc that if your baby shows signs of rash/cradle cap then it will lilely be caused by the baby products x

i thought you weren't supposed to use any kind of shampoo / bath products until a few weeks after anyway?
