Hey all im on income support my partner is on jsa if we made a claim together i know i'd go onto jobseekers with him but will i be able to have the money go into my account rather than his?

you can have the money go into what ever account you want hun x my DH is on incapactiy benifit and he has his money paid into my account xx HTH x

Ah thanks :D. Do i need to pick up a form from the jobcentre to make a joint claim?

as far as im aware its all done over the phone now they give you a 0800 number to ring and then they send you an appointment at the jobcentre whilst on the phone you will answer questions and they will send you all the paperwork just like filling in the form at home.. and then once youve had your appointment your claim gets sorted x may have changed now though best going into the jc to ask x

I heard one of us will have the exception of not having to look for work i.e me cus im at home looking after the buba is that right?

yeah should be basically what will happen is he will claim for you as you will be unavalible for work x but i think it still works that at 29 weeks you will both move over to income support for 3 months ( thats how it used to work ) then back over to jsa where your partner will have to look for work and you will be exempt xxx
