Hi, I'm Amanda.

I've known I was pregnant since I felt nauseous at around 4 wks. I was scared because it was unplanned, worried because I don't make much money and my relationship with the father isn't perfect or anything close to it.

But now that I'm about 10 wks, I find I'm worried about everything. First I was worried about labor and now I'm worried about getting huge. I've always had a weight problem and I finally got it under control and now I'm going to get huge again. Only this time for good reason. I know this is the last thing I should worry about, after all, I'm going to bring a new life into the world and the weight gain should be worth it. I'm just scared I'm going to be giant.

Does anyone have any tips for staying semi-in shape and healthy during your pregnancy. I don't know why I'm so worried but I am. The first trimester really does a number on your emotions.

I've put on a stone since I got pregnant :) LOL! Just because I was starving myself before and now I'm eating my bodies storing everything! Your midwife will give you tips & stuff

Well since I'm poor I have really shitty insurance and a doctor that has a ton of other girls so he's not very helpful. I'm trying to see about getting a midwife, as I've heard they're much more supportive and usually have good advice.

Thanks :)

Just try to eat as healthy as you can!! Also dont forget to exercise. Take walks. Just make sure you're eating enough. Your doctor will tell you what a healthy weight is and if she's concerned you're gaining too much she'l tell you to tone it down LOL (I was one pound over what is a normal pregnancy weight for me and my doctor reminded me to eat healthy or else LOL)

Hi hun :hi:

welcome to baby & bump!!

Well the goo dnews is you are aware of what may happen.......with my first pregnancy I put stones on :cry:and have never shifted it, and again this time round I still managed to pile more on:dohh: but nowhere's near as much this time!

Just be as carefull as you can.....the first tim,e round I had a lot of nausea and only felt ok if I was eating, so a tip for you if you get this...........eat 5 smaller meals a day and pack them with protein, it really helps with nausea! And just steer away from the chocs as much as possible, try gentle exercise as much as possible, but remember......a treat is ALWAYS allowed ;)

Good luck hun & wishing you a very healthy & happy pregnancy! :hugs:x

Hey, just to let you know that it is COMPLETELY normal to worry about all kinds of things when you're pregnant. Just a look around this board will show you that we've all worried about something or other. Luckily, there are loads of people here going through the exact same things and worrying about similar things, and loads of people who can give advice.

Weight gain is inevitable really (except in some cases..). I'm just facing up to the fact that I'll have to lose some weight once he's born.. which hopefully shouldn't be too difficult if I'm going to be running around trying to get everything done for him. The most excess weight you'll put on will be from sugary and fatty foods so just make sure you don't eat too much of them, although don't try to cut them out completely (I got told I wasn't eating enough of them, so now I get to eat cake completely guilt-free :)). Otherwise, just make sure you're getting a balanced diet and you should be fine.
