Hi ladies. :hugs:
I've been looking into the whole disputed parentage section on the CSA website and just wanted to ask a wee question concerning this part:

"Q. Who pays for DNA testing?
A. We expect the person named as the parent of the child to pay for the test.

If the test result shows that they are not the child's parent, we will give them their money back and we will cover the cost of the test."

That does mean the potential father right?
I'm pretty sure it does.. considering the wording of it lol.
I might be being abit dumb here but I just wanted to make sure since I don't want to be going into that sort of thing with my facts wrong.

okay i went through this in 2007, they send out all the paper work and you get the test done by doctors so its all legal and stuff, then if the results show the man named as the father is Genetically related to the child then he will have to pay for the tests, if he is not the father then CSA pay for it. money for the test will only be asked for when the guy is proven to be the biological father of the child the dna test was carried out on, it will be added the the payments of child mataince.

hope this helps?

Thank you both for the helpful replies.
Just wanted to make sure I fully know what I'm getting into =]

no worries hun you don't need to get dna tests to claim CSA

My FOB denied parentage and went through with the DNA test, he's not very happy now he owes them £250 :haha:

serves him right!!! my ex said he was gonna deny paternity of our 2 but when he found out that he decided not to bother coz he would of had to pay £500 and he knew he was their father - was just trying to annoy me and try to get out of paying so much by delaying the claim - again wasnt happy that they told him he was going to be paying maintenece from the day they had made contact with him :happydance:

only £200 wow he's lucky my ex would have had to pay £500+
