hi im new to here, me and my partner are ttc for about 3 years now with no luck went to the docs for some advice and was refereed to the hospital infertility clinic we i had blood test taken to find out my egg count and my partner was also tested. my partners came back fine and today i received a letter saying i results show my egg count is lower than what it should be for someone my age, and they made me a appointment to go see a different doctor in 5 weeks time, i am pure worried about this as i am 29 and not had any kids yet, every month i do ovulation test for 10 days and have yet to show sign of ovulation even the doctors blood ovulation test has not shown signs of ovulation should i be worried i not sure i can wait 5 weeks to find out what the doctor says

So I guess they tested your AMH??? There's a lot doctors don't know about AMH and how it relates to the number of eggs you have left. I wouldn't lose hope just yet especially since you are young.

ok thanks yes it was amh they tested the next 5 weeks are going to be very long i guess lol

Hello,
I have also recently found out I have low AMH and am a similar age, 28. The consultant has said to me that low egg reserve doesn't mean low egg quality, especially at a young age. Also, I have read on the internet that a low egg reserve doesn't mean you don't ovulate and, from personal experience, my blood tests and scans etc show that I do ovulate regualrly. For me, the low AMH means I have to be on a higher does of drugs for ivf and they would expect to get fewer eggs than average but still the quality of a 28 year old (our ivf is for male factor infertility, nothing to do with my result).

What ov test do you use? I never got a positive result on one until I started using the clear blue digital ones. I don't know if this is related to it??

I agree at your age low egg reserve does not mean it's not good quality. If there are no other issues you should be able to conceive naturally despite low egg reserve but since you have been TTC for 3 years there must be some other problem why you cant conceive. if you never had a positive OPK and blood test do not confirm ovulation that's got to be the problem and not low egg reserve. You can ask them to do cycle monitoring, also you can start temping as temp charts shows quite clearly whether you ovulate or not. some ladies do not get positive OPK cos their LH surge level is quite low but they still have temp rise which means they ovulate. you may need to go on chlomid if you do not ovulate but only a doctor can make that decision.
