Just got back from my dr, have my results

I had my hcg tested on wednesday, which would have been 19 to 21 dpo. I checked the hcg table, and for a singlton pregnancy, the ave is 1061, high is 4130. For twin pg, the ave is 963 and high is 5859. Mine, was 5925. So, higher then the high for a twin pg, now Im scared! Could something be wrong? I mean, that's if I was even 21 dpo on wednesday, I could have only been 19dpo which makes me worry even more

I have an ultrasound set for sept 14.

I say 21 dpo, cuz that's the furthest along I could possible be.

I can tell you from experience..
I had IUI + fertility drugs to conceive Emily so my chances of multi's was high and when they did my HCG on 21 DPO my count was close to 6200 .. which freaked me out.. we had prepared ourselves for twins or more but being faced with it is a totally different story.
Anyways I had a U/S at 6 weeks 1 day .. and they was only one nice yolk with one heartbeat..
Just try to relax and wait till the U/S .. one good thing is that high of count means your pregnancy is nice healthy !!

Well maybe it's twins. That wouldn't be so bad would it? Even if not...for whatever it's worth, I think it is the rate of increase in HCG that matters more than the absolute number.

Try not to worry, and good luck on the 14th... that's only a few days away!

Glad you got good high numbers at least that means baby or babies are healthy cant wait to here the outcome now

Man, I dont know why I do this to myself!!! Automatically, I think the worst!! I think, it must be molar pg, since my levels are higher then the highest even for twins, if Im even as far along as I can possible push it.

What I need to do is read my post, and pretend its someone else, then I will be more positive . Im always too hard on myself.

Thanx girls, Im hoping you're all right, I mean ya Id be even more upset if my levels were really low, like lower then the lowest. What a stupid brain I have jumping to the worse conclusion. I just hope my 1st reaction wasnt right.

Btw, twins would be great, although Id need a new vehicle and I just bought one not even a tear ago. That would be the only issue

Great news, big numbers are better than small! I thought mine would turn out to be twins not because of levels cos they're not checked in this country but just cos I felt so crap but it appears there's only one in there! Sounds like you have one very healthy baby but if its twins....double the fun! xx

How many weeks were you when u had ur scan?

Im going to be under 6 weeks, I hope its enough to see the heartbeat..

Actually, my 1st 4 pg's I didnt get my hcg checked, so there was nothing to worry about!! Why am I freaked abput something I shouldnt even know about?

So, from what you girls know, it does happen right? That the levels are higher then the highest, like off the chart, and the baby could be totally fine?

I shouldn't have had a scan till 11 weeks, normal practice where I live is 11-12 weeks then again at 20 weeks but because of the bleed I got one at 9 weeks, was just a midwife tho so she couldn't tell me much just approx age and that the heart was beating...got another one on Wednesday so I should get a bit more info then. Can't wait till the 20 week one tho that's when we'll find out whether its a brother or a sister for eric! x

I always have had sky high HCG in last pregnancy and now in this one, only singletons. Means nothing in and of itself. As long as the number increases that's all that matters!

On the chart I have from the hospital, hcg levels for gestational age...
2-3 weeks: 100-5,000
3-4 weeks: 500-10,000

If you're 21 DPO, you're clearly in the 500-10,000 range! Even if you go by your chart, your levels are less than 100 higher. Stop worrying!!!!

somehow I suspect that Eric's nose will be put right out of joint when he has to share me with a baby! He thinks I'm a really comfy chair and that this is my purpose in life! x
