Hi i was hoping for some advice....
today i had a laparoscpopy done
The reason i had the lap, due and hysterscopy was because my HSG showed one tube to be fully blocked.
The lap showed I do not have any blocked tubes or any problems except for
"Stage 4 (severe) endometriosis on both oterosacral ligaments, fossae ovarica and POD" not a clue what that means- but DR Google will helping me.

My discharge form says that the endo was treated - however the consultant didn't come and see me and i have to wait 6 weeks for a follow up appointment
The question is, how many weeks do we to wait before TTC. The nurse suggested 6 weeks but surely that is extreme.

Also, has anyone had this treatment - are my chances of conceiving improved?

Thank you in advance
x

Hi, I had a lap and dye that was extended to a laparotomy to remove a large endometrioma and other adhesions and endo deposits (also stage 4).

I actually tried to conceive that cycle (ovulated two weeks after surgery so very very gently !!) which was a bfn. Next cycle my consultant gave me letrozole to try plus follicle tracking and an hcg trigger and I got pregnant :) we have male factor subfertility too

As long as you feel up to it I see no problem with TTC again as soon as you are ready x

thank you sugarpuff.
I ovulate in 8 or 9 days so will be 10 days after the surgery and dont want to risk infection but also dont want to miss the chance. think i will see how i feel nearer the time

Hi ya, I had lap and dye on Monday and although I don't have any advise to offer re your outcome, can I recommend you take some form of laxative to help with BM. I was in such severe pain this eve I almost thought I might have to call an ambulance, turns out it was because I really needed the loo , I hope this little piece of advise can help you or any other ladies searching lap and dye!

thank you Athena - good advice - i was thinking that might be adding to the severe pain i am in, will get some senokot today !
xx

I took some last night and feel waaaay much better this am.

I must say the whole thing hurt a whole lot more than I was expecting, having read on here before a lot of ladies got through the procedure fine and with no pain, I was honestly in agony afterwards. Hope I don't have a very low pain threshold or something, imagine what I'd be like in labour lol!! xxx

ha ha me too - when the gas pains in my shoulder kicked in along with the stomach pain, the first thing i said to my DH is i am definitely having an epidural when we eventually get to actually having a baby !

Ha ha, ouch those shoulder tip pains are awful aren't they :( yes I bet I'll be like, GIVE ME THE DRUGS!!!!

If its any consolation I spent four days in hospital whimpering in pain when I had my laparotomy - I got fully dilated during labour with absolutely no drugs until I needed a spinal for an emergency caesarian and I was up and about the following morning doing all sorts with nothing but paracetamol - my doctor was shocked at my recovery.

I think your mindset has a lot to do with your recovery - when you get your lovely babies you'll all be fantastic :hugs:

Wow you are one brave lady! I would like to be able to say I would try and go for a natural birth. I know my Mum always tells me it's different because it's the only positive pain you'll ever feel!

sugarpuff - that is encouraging to hear - and i thought i had a high pain threshold too !
xx
