Hiya ladies.
I apologise now for the length of this post.
I have a two year old son, 26months to be exact. He's the apple of my eye and my entire world. Me and his "Dad" broke up 13months ago because of domestic violence. I left the day after because I could never put my baby in such an unsafe situation.
His family are extremely rich and have always thought they could buy people. So they hired solicitors and barristers to try and get what they wanted in court. This all thankfully failed. My ex-partner lives 116miles away from me and my son and expected to have him every weekend. The courts saw that putting a child at such a young age in a car journey for four hours every weekend wasn't beneficial for anyone bar the father. They also recognized that despite my ex-partner living with my son for 14months, he never had a relationship with Liam and to this day, that remains.
Nine months in the court process and six court dates down; My son started showing some really disturbing signs. He'd never willingly wanted to go and have contact with his Dad but the last two times he saw his Dad - he'd freeze and go into a state of terror. Then when my ex-partner would try and touch Liam, he'd scream, punch, kick, cry and then hyperventilate. To see any child hyperventilate is terrible but when it's your own two year old, it's the worst thing possible.
He then got nasty and my Dad had to intervene and ask him to leave. In which eventually he did.
My solicitor stopped contact and we made an emergency court application back to court for the 12th. Last Friday we had a letter from his solicitor stating he was withdrawing his contact application and no longer wishes to persue a relationship with his son.
In other words, he's washed his hands of Liam. To make things worse, I'm 14 weeks pregnant with his baby too (One massive mistake). He's denying its his and that we even slept together which suits me fine.
Just wondering really, what rights I have? He's on the birth certificate so still has parental responsibility. I'm still in complete shock that he's finally out of both mine, Liam's and the unborn babys life.
Any advice would be appreciated. xx
