I have spent a few months browsing through the forums, but this is my first post. I think that I have kind of been in denial about the whole situation. My husband and I have been NTNP for over three years, and actively trying for over two. Our doctor referred us to an obgyn in July, at which time we started going through the testing phase. I have had bloodwork, and ultrasound, and an HSG- all which came back clear. My husband had and SA completed which came back with great results. We are on "observation" for the next four months, at which time our obgyn will start us on fertility treatments. I know that some of you are in a similar boat as myself. I haven't been told this, but I am pretty much labeling us as "unexplained fertility". Today has been rough because AF arrived... I was really hoping for the miracle after my HSG (which I had two months ago). No luck there:nope: I am hoping for some support from this forum to keep going through this difficult process.

Hi Beth,

This is a great forum for support. I know the feeling when AF comes month after month....its devastating. I have also ben given the label of "unexplained infertility".

Good Luck on your journey and know that you can come here anytime for great positive support :hugs:

I'm sorry girl! I know it's tough-I was really hoping for success after my HSG but no luck yet. We're all in this together-best of luck to us-maybe the cold weather will bring more BFPs?? :))

Im labeled "unexplained infertility" too! And I was hoping for a BFP after my HSG in April. No luck! Ive been under observation since April, and no I go back Nov 5! Looking forward to Monday!!!!! Good Luck to u!

Hi Beth,
You are definitely not alone! I am ttc for 12 months and they are still looking for a label for me. It's always the worst when AF comes.
:hugs: to you.

Thanks for all of the replies. I appreciate all of the support  My doctor definitely had my hopes up after the HSG... it almost seemed like a guarantee with how optimistic he was. I just wish that I had some more control over what was going on. He recommended that for the next 4 months, we just continue as normal. He doesn't want to see us temping, using OPK's, etc. because he is all about a "stress free" environment. I can definitely see where he is coming from, because life is stressful enough, but it still makes me feel pretty helpless.

ces2008- did your doctor give you any sort of an idea of what the next step was going to be?

My Dr wanted me charting and using OPKs for 6 total months. Next step, he said that he will prob put me on Clomid to try to strengthen Ovulation. We shall see Monday!!!! I'll try to update about what he says.

We've all been there- I know I have days I just want to give up.
Sending loads of support and :dust:

:hugs:

I too have been labelled "unexplained" frustrating because you almost wish for a reason so you dont feel like your spinning wheel every month. I just had my lap/dye Oct 19th so waiting till the end of the month for consult with FS to find out whats next. I've realized its a marathon I'm running and not a sprint so I try to pace myself and remember the reason for all this and that keeps me determined! This is a great forum with loads of support and loads of knowledge!

Hi Beth! I too am "unexplained infertility" I wish you all the best!! PS: I agree with your dr about not temping, OPK, etc etc...its literally addicting when you start...and kinda all consuming.

ces2008- Definitely keep me up to date!

I'm so glad to finally find a place where I am understood. DH is very supportive, but he doesn't really like to talk about it a whole lot.

stayinhappy- I am very happy that my doctor is not recommending temping, etc. He doesn't even really want us timing things (just to ensure we BD 3+ times a week), but that is hard since my ovulation day is always in the back of my mind.

Thanks for the support everyone

Def. Ill try to get on Monday after my appt. You keep me updated too!

That sounds great, ces2008- I likely won't have any updates until Feb. but I'll let you know! It seems like we are in a similar place at the moment :)

While I haven't gone through all the testing quite yet, I feel the same sadness and frustration every time AF comes around. I also realize how much more sensitive I am to everyone and everything around me--I notice that way more people either announce they are pregnant or are pregnant than I ever realized before, and it just gets me down.

I keep trying to tell myself that it's all in my mind, but I think it's likely more than that. I've been trying to minimally chart for a while--I can see how the stress can be a killer! However, it seems like being unstressed didn't help, either.

I think there's more of us out there than not, so I'm glad you started the thread...it gives all of us that little bit of extra support on a down day!:friends:

my doctor also told me not to temp, take ovulation tests etc...same reasoning, reduce stress. and all my friends tell me "you just need to relax", "dont think about it", "dont stress about peeing on all those sticks", "it will happen when its meant to be" -most of whom have sweet little babies! The part that gets me down is....whether or not I pee on the ovu sticks or take my temp....I know when I ovulate-I know when af is coming...and so nothing seems to make it easier....

I will keep you all in my thoughts and I need to keep believing that Nov is our month!

That is so true, readytostart. Oh if only it were that easy to alleviate stress or "just relax". How long have you been trying for?

Bjerg- I can definitely relate with becoming hyperaware of pregnancies around you. I always feel guilty about being jealous, but it's really difficult not to be. You said that you haven't gone through the testing quite yet- is this something that you are planning to pursue in the near future?

:dust:

:hugs:I'm in a good mood today!!! Went to my OBGYN appt and I was right!!! After looking at my charts, and saying how impressed he is with how organized I have them, he decided that he def is putting me on Clomid!!! I start CD's 3-7 at the beginning of next cycle!!!!! I'm still holding out hope that I will get my:bfp:this cycle, but if not I'm excited to be starting the Clomid!!!!! Gives me hope that maybe, just maybe I'll get my:baby:soon!!!! Will keep you updated on how things go for me!!! Please keep me updated too!!!!

That's great news, ces2008! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Lots of baby dust!! :dust:

We have been trying for 2 years. It is so frustrating... But for some reason I feel really hopeful for November. But I think I feel hopeful most of the time...until af shows up :(

What about you, how long have you all been trying?

DH and I have been NTNP for over three years, and actively trying for over two. This month we are going to try preseed and I am strongly considering acupuncture.

Here's hoping that this is your month:hugs:
