Well, me and my OH have been trying for a baby since October 2010 (my LO was 4 months old, we wanted a small age gap. Got to laugh really!)

In those 16.5 months, my cycles have been getting longer and longer, my PMS symptoms have been getting worse and my weight has got worse.

I've been doing OPK's (not every month, but some) and it seems I didn't ovulate all the time.

My last AF was on December 10th, nothing since.

It's taken me until now to start thinking about PCOS. Does anybody that has this give me some advice?

How do they diagnose it? Will I get help conceiving? Will they make me lose weight before anything?

I'm so confused! Thank you for any help :flower:

Sorry, no help here but didn't want to read and run. I know there's been a lot of girls with PCOS here so maybe a forum search will help with some questions?

All the best.

Were you able to find help on another thread? I know a few things about it. They can confirm it with either blood work or symptoms. For blood work they look at your testosterone levels, LH, and FSH (don't remember which way it is but if you have PCOS then one is about 3 times higher then the other on cd 3: either LH or fsh). Symptoms include excess body hair, hair loss, acne, weight and difficulty loosing weight, and a "string of pearls" visible in your ovaries during an u/s (a bunch of little follies trying to develop). They might be more symptoms but I can't remember them.

There is help for PCOS. Some take metformin to help with blood sugar levels (there's a link between PCOS and insulin resistance) and there's also clomid to help with ovulation. If clomid doesn't work there are other fertility meds including femera and injections (Follistim, gonal-f, menopur, etc.
