18 weeks today, so my a/s is exactly 2 weeks from today. After considering some opinions and knowing my doctor, we're choosing to do an elective gender scan Sunday (my doctor is not very sensitive, for example when we first did the heartbeat, my dh and i both missed it, she did doppler for probably less that 10 seconds and was oh that was it -we really want something more special to tell us whether or future child will be a boy or girl)....anyway....with it now only being a couple days away....I've realized I'm terrified! I haven't seen the nugget since my dating scan at 8 weeks! I'm literally do worried something will be wrong!

Anyone else feel this way? And any advice?

My gender scan is in three days (eek!) and I haven't seen the baby since week 10. I'm nervous too, partly to find out the gender, and partly because at my last prenatal checkup, the heartbeat sounded off to me. The doctor said it sounded perfect, and I trust her, but to me it just sounded weird and I had a bad feeling about it. I too am afraid we're going to find something wrong.

I'm also worried because for the last three days, the baby's kicking patterns have changed and they don't kick nearly as much as they did before. However I keep telling myself that's just coincidence, because before the baby was kicking at my super tight underpants, and three days ago I started wearing bigger ones. Hopefully it's just that I'm giving the baby more room so they don't have to kick as much!

I didn't get my first scan until I was 18 weeks and that was when we found out the gender. I was a nervous wreck too! I thought there would be no baby because I hadn't felt significant movements yet :haha: even though I had heard his heartbeat on the doppler at previous appointments. Once you see that little bean on the screen all of your worries will go away. I couldn't look away and wanted to spend more time with him lol. I definitely recommend getting a 4D ultrasound once you're in your 3rd trimester. It is so worth it!

I have a scan every fortnight and a few days before each one I'm constantly thinking something's wrong with one of the babies. The second I see them both wriggling away on the screen it goes away...until the next time!

Im 18 weeks today too :) and my scan is in 2 weeks 3 days, im scared, i last saw baby at 12 week scan, im feeling kicks daily so i know baby is ok in there plus i have my own doppler, but its the fear to know he/she is growing right etc, i wished i was having a gender scan seperate from my 20 week scan, i much preferred the private scan with my daughter than the hospital scans i had with my sons, a lot more personal

Tbh I think its normal to be nervous over scans, I've had so many with DS n bump but still get nervous and stressed. Hopefully only one more :).

I am feeling the same. We are having a private gender scan at 16+4 and I haven't seen baby since 8+6. It looked exactly like a gummy bear at that point. Now I am terrified that we will go in and there will be something wrong, but that they won't be able to say anything because they aren't doctors. Or that it has like an extra arm or something. We don't even have our anatomy scan booked yet (doc hasn't mentioned it once and my next appointment is at 17+2), so I have no idea when we will be able to really relax and know for sure that everything is okay. I have some serious mixed feelings about this private scan now, but too late! The gender reveal invites are already sent! No going back now just because I am a little nervous.

Thank you ladies for the encouragement! Did our private scan today! They don't take measurement or tell you anything medical, but checked heartbeat and saw HIM moving around and got lots of pictures. Very worth it in my opinion, the tech was amazing and it was great not to focus solely on the medical aspect...then i like an insane person goohled like crazy....lol 10 more days till a/s!
