Hi Ladies,

Ok i will get to my point of this post but bare with me for a minute just to give you a bit of background info.!:flower:

So'it's been a while since i've been on BnB. Mainly because i had a m/c on 5th June at just over 7 weeks, and another m/c on 30th July. OH and I decided that as we got pg straightaway after the first m/c that we would wait at least three months before ttc again to let ourselves get back on track with my hormones etc! So after the 2nd m/c i was getting my hcg levels checked every 2 days to make sure they had dropped completely and on 6th Aug (one week after the 2nd m/c) my hcg had gone right down to 7 and i got a negative hpt after that.

So the doctor said that they would like to do some tests to make sure everything was ok with me and to possibly find out a reason for the 2 m/cs and i made an appointment with him for yesterday (thurs). On Wednesday i do not know why i did it or what came over me but i did a hpt, i had been very emotional over that week and i thought for sure that AF was on her way and i wanted to rule out the 0.001% chance that i could be pg again for a 3rd time. it was such a low chance as we were really careful and tbh didn't :sex: as much as we normally do, however...

...i got a bfp!!!!!!! I could not believe it and still cant!

My problem is, that i havent had a period since 15th april, then 2 m/cs in between so i have no idea how far along i am so i got hcg test yesterday and it came back at 48 - is that good? i know its not the number but how much it rises that is important but im so anxious and scared that this wont work out.

Can anyone shed abit of light on this for me? or know anything that may put my mind at rest?

The doc at the hospital after the 2nd m/c did say that the chance of 3 m/cs in a row is 1 in a 100, but it was 1 in 34 for me to have a 2nd m/c in a row so that doesn't comfort me much.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for reading and welldone to anyone who got to the end of this post! :flower:

I miscarried on the 6th and got a positive hpt on the 29th so 23 days later I was pregnant again. And here I am at 33 weeks........ I'm sending prayers your way, keep us updated hun.

how long after mc did it take for you to get a negative pregnancy test, its a week since my mmc and i want to ttc but im still getting positive tests so hormones are still there, congratulations on the pregnancy :happydance:

Congrats on the BFP!

Tough to say if 48 is "good" - like you said, the rise is what matters most, plus not knowing how far along you are it's very hard to say if it's in the normal range. So don't worry about it til you get your next test results! BUT I can say that if you're around 4-5 weeks, your hcg looks fine.

While there's an increased statistical risk for a mc, so far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be a reason to think that there's anything wrong - it could easily just be a matter of chance that you've had 2 mcs. In which case, there's no increased risk of another mc.

Either way, your doctors will keep an extra special eye out for you this time. Try to relax!

Fingers crossed for you!

reversal - i started spotting on 26th july and m/c by 30th, bled for about a week and got negative test about a week and a half after the m/c, so around10th august and positive test then on 25th august. fingers crossed you can start trying again soon!!xxx
