Just sad... RE apt. with POF...

Doc did a scan and found two an. follies, which she said was right in line with my fsh levels (32), said there's really no need to try to stimulate because IUI and IVF both have really low rates of success. She recommended either a donor egg, or donor embie. Hubby is opposed to either "it's just not you babe"... Of course I'm crushed. She said IF i can conceive on my own (slim to virtually impossible), that I will most likely miscarry. I just turned 38.

She ran a bunch of tests, and she's doing a keryotype, that should be bad in a few weeks

The past year has been more supplements than I thought possible, with zero luck.

I m so sorry you recieved this news and understand how gutted you must feel. Doctors are not always right and i think it is unfair of them the make sweeping statements (like how is it helpful to say you ll probably mc if you do conceive naturally ?).

Have you read the book 'inconceivable' by julia indochiva ? It is a very interesting read about her getting her fsh down from in the 40s with diet/acupunc/supplements etc and going on to sucessfully have a second child. I think she was quite a bit older (42) than you too.

TCM and acu also seems to help women with high fsh and it can vary month on month. Please don t lose hope, no one can ever know for sure whats round the corner.

Hope that you can prove you doc wrong.

thank you. What's TCM? I want to try acupuncture for sure. I actually just ordered geritol to add to my supplements, lol, couldn't hurt, right?

TCM - traditional chinese medicine. Some acupuncture practioners are also trained in this and use chinese herbs to regulate hormones etc, just make sure its one who specialises in fertility. Good luck !
