So i'm 33 weeks and have been having preterm/prodromal labor symptoms for nearly 2 weeks. This is my 2nd baby and the same thing happened with my first, just started at 34 weeks instead of 32. I must have gone to the hospital for monitoring at least 3 times with my first before my waters went at 37 weeks. This time i refuse to go, because they will not do anything to stop the contractions after 34 weeks and pretty much fob you off if you arent dilating.

Last time at 34 weeks i was 1cm. I did end up getting stuck there even when my water broke i didnt budge for like 6 hours (turned out not all of my waters had broken so dr had to do it, then i progressed to 9 in like 3hrs with my daughter back to back.)

Sooo it started with the baby dropping suddenly and realised i had went an entire week without using my inhaler. Then justt when i thought she couldnt get any lower, she did. about 5 days ago my BH ramped up and became painful but irregular. Mostly 3min apart lasting over 1min for about 45 min before fizzling out. Then a few days ago i got a hellacious backache that hasn't budged. Im having trouble walking now and am having cervical pains along with pains in my inner and outter thighs with my irregular contractions. They do get worse when im walking like say in walmart grocery shopping. Sometimes i cannot bend at the waist at all because of the pain.

Yesterday i spent most of the day with an ice pack shoved down my backside. The backache is getting worse lol. I also have been getting really badly nauseated for 2 or 3 days now but havent thrown up YET. i came real close to blowing last night, i felt so nasty. Also dh was giving me a back rub last night and the small of my back and tailbone is sooo sore he couldnt touch it right in the middle. Then i had to make him stop because i was getting contractions where the pain was shooting from my back down the side of my thigh (not like sciatic pain which goes straight down the buttcheek)..

I have episodes where my blood pressure feels like its sky rocketing and i have to immediately lay down or sit because it makes me feel generally weak. I have had my sugars tested and they were fine. My next OB appt is on tuesday where i plan to let my obgyn know what has been going on.

I'm not expecting a sliver of sympathy. Im already doing everything i can. Lots of water, tylenol, resting, broe out my birthing ball to try and relieve some back ache although nothing i do helps that at all. Everytime baby turns her head it feels... well pretty freaking aweful. I'm so tired already, but I would like to hold out to 37 weeks again if this little girl will just stay put.

OH yeah! One more thing, the nausea ive been getting did not happen the first time i went into ptl. So it's new to me to have nausea past the 14 week mark. Also ive had diarrhea for over a week now. Im talking 3 and 4 times a day.

:hugs: just wanted to say I also have some of these symptoms and a friend mentioned prodromal labor and it seems I might be experiencing that. Contractions, tailbone pain, nausea, feels like I'm on my period, hurts in inner thighs when walking, hard to bend over because of pain sometimes...

I was put on the monitor on Monday because I kept cramping and felt like I was on my period. Confirmed contractions but nowhere near dilated.

It sounds like you should get checked. I'm not sure why you wouldn't go in. It could be as simple as dehydration

as i mentioned in my post even if i went in they wouldn't do anything. i went through this with my first here in the same hospital. there's no way im dehydrated anyway, i've been on bed rest for a few months and all i drink is water even throughout the night. i have been applauded many times because i am always well hydrated lol. but i see my obgyn in 2 days so i don't see the point of rushing to the ER unless the symptoms become unbearable ya know. my hospital doesnt administer the shots after** 33 weeks and lets you labor at home for the most part. i was really mad i went in when my water broke last time because i laid in a bed for over 6 hours before they did anything at all. i went in at 34 weeks and they told me then that they do not stop labor at that point. it's all very irregular so. i havent even packed my bag that is how unconvinced i am lol

yup sounds like it. unfortunately it just sucks to be us right now. since without dilation the doctors really do not care about it.. it just leaves us to suffer until either we hit 4cm, water breaks, or we get induced. im really praying i go before any induction. laboring with pitocin sucks

Well I'm super confused..... You're contracting and have a history of early issues and I assume on bed rest for this pregnancy? Or the last one? Cause you mention the pains being worse when you go shopping.... I would assume that if you're on bed rest then any sort of major or even minor activity would make it worse. Fingers crossed you keep cooking that baby!!

oh im on bed rest because baby fell into the 10th percentile. at the last scan she had jumped back up into the 17th. i have issues gaining weight and drop it real fast so they dont want me cleaning or doing anything but sitting around. so far i have only gained 3lbs this pregnancy and im strugglin to keep it on lol. surprisingly my previous history didnt matter because i actually made it to full term. i was 37.4wks and baby was only 5lb6oz but my regular OB thinks i just make em small. i guess they only worry about it if you actually have delivered before 37 weeks, i'm not sure. i will know more on tuesday. the pains are stronger when im on my feet walking around for 20min or longer but still very irregular.

the most i have had is 4 within 45mins. today i have had at least one per hour but varying degrees some dont hurt at all. and ty i hope she stays in there too. been using my birthing ball and doing the half circle motions but it just hurts even on the ball.

DH is saying by the way im acting he's guessing i will go in another 2 or 3 weeks. i have no idea what natural labor feels like because i was induced last time to bring it on. its all more irritating than anything i'll admit

saw midwife today. she wasnt allowed to check me but said im dead on with all of my assumptions she said im in the grey area they wont give shots or stop labor at this point and then she said just keep an eye on the contractions if they become consistent for more than 1 hour, to go in because my labor might pick up on it's own. but right now i'm just screwed lol. ugh ugh!

ok im tired of it now. its 230am and im up with ctx. my upper tummy is sore now bcos they are starting at the top and going down into my back. when i lay down they start in my lower back instead. im miserable, and crying because i cant imagine going on like this for another 6 weeks. they are strong enough to make me upset and slowly exhausting me but thats it.. im really praying my obgyn tells me something useful tomorrow

I don't really have anything wise to say, just wanted to send some love your way as you sounds like you're having a miserable time :hugs: :hugs: I hope little lady eases up on you or makes her appearance soon, you can't be doing that for another 6 weeks hun xxx

:hugs: the back pain seems to be the worst for me lately...I wonder if babe is back-to-back making it hurt? I know he's flipping around, but always head down (my good boy!)

No contractions in a few days for me, but at times (usually at night) I suddenly cramp like on my period.

I'm convinced I won't know I'm in labor till I'm crowning 😂

that is what im worried about now that they will fob me off and i wont get to the hospital in time. but i am seriously freaking out about going in too early... my last stay in l&d was horrible

im 33.4 today. last time i went in at 34 weeks, they put me on monitors and said yup- they're real ctx! watched me for an hour and i didnt progress past 1cm. they gave me a shot of morphine and sent me home to wait it out. all i feel is dread over that happening again

I feel your pain! I've been to L&D twice in the past week and both times I didn't dilate past 4.5cm, even though I was having strong consistent contractions, so I got sent home. Every night I get contractions, and I'm starting to get lower back pain and pain in my hips and thighs. I'm just ready for this baby to come out now!

well update. i did not get to see mY obgyn yesterday. something happened at the clinic and they wheeled some girl into the room i was waiting for, and ended up shuffling me all around the building and squeezzed me in with an OB who hurded me in and out in under a minute. he measured me and took babys HB and told me nothing! didnt want to hear anything i had to say and told me to go to the hospital if i had any worries.......

Soooo i did. Reluctantly. Cause as soon as he laid me back to measure my fundal height i started contracting in my back.

Went in for a labor check and turns out right at that moment i was dehydrated. They put me on the monitors and it only caught 2 contractions within 30mins. They pushed one bag of water thru IV, gave me a vistaril and kicked me out withi 45mins. I am soft but still high up, thick and closed. They couldnt tell me why i have been contracting at other times. Just said to come in when it turns into active labor.

Sooo it was totally pointless to go in there. I knew i was dehydrated because i woke up late and went straight to my OB appt and then straight to hospital and only had drank 1 bottle of water.

On top of it all, the nurse who did my IV blew out my vein on my left hand, so now i have a huge bubble over my wrist that hurts like HELL. They sent someone else in to do it on my right hand.

I knew they wouldnt do nothing. Wasted my time. Glad they didnt keep me very long. I feel kind of hung over today and not well. But ive also been pricked with needles 5 times over the last 2 days. I got wooping cough vaccine so my entire right shuolder hurts.

Not happy to know ive been suffering for nothing. I dont need "practice' contractions, i have a kid already! Bleh.

:hugs: I'm sorry they were no help to you. My doctors are no better...I literally had to stop him on his way out the door to say "actually I have a few questions..." but he was such a jerk, he always rushes me, and short answers.

I just posted a new thread but I had a 30 min contraction going on today at work...it was so weird (and painful!) But then just lower back/tailbone pain and menstrual cramps since, which I've considered to be normal at this point...:sigh:

you know, i had a really long contraction with my first. she had wedged herself sideways (transverse) and it was so painful...... she had tried to turn but couldnt. he cord was just under 8 inches long though.

i just dont remember being in this much pain. when it's your first, they say it hurts more because your body isnt use to it. now when it's a subsequent, they blame it on being the fact that its your 2nd,3rd,4th lol you can't win! i will say i havent had any contractions today. the nurse did say it was possible my uterus was just irritated. maybe it's calmed down with the med. i still have a hellacious backache though and my bump feels like it's going to burst with an achey feeling. Dh says duhh it hurts.. ur pregnant..blablabla... :dohh:

i hope we all feel better. this sux lol. i know we all wanted this, but why must the last 2 months drag? my first pregnancy wooshed by. this one not so much
