So my husband has decided to inform me that he wants to carry on the tradition of giving a son his grandfather's initials. So for us... baby's grandfather's initials are JKM. My father is (awkwardly) named J. Scott. With dh's father also being a J, we thought we could honor both by just calling him J. +(whatever K name we choose) and calling him by his middle name, like my dad (who goes by Scott). We don't want to use the name Jay (which makes us pretty picky, I guess) as a first name.

We need the initials JKM. The J is already decided, but the choice for K names for boys is so limited. We already know a Kellan and we think Karson or Kaden is way too popular. And it is so difficult when we know we will be calling him by his middle name. So we have to choose a name we really like.

Is Karrick too crazy? I mentioned it to a friend today and she gave me the strangest look. But my brother immediately said he loved it. I know it is typically spelled with a C, but obviously we have to do a K. I think Karrick sounds like an adult name, so it almost seems weird on a kid but okay for a lawyer you shake hands with. Lol. I guess he will grow into it? And we can call hime Kar as a kid (like care, not car)???

Sorry for the ramble. Stick with Karrick? Or back to the drawing board?

You could spell it Kerrick and call him Eric
Here are other K names as well...

Kai
Kameron
Kamdon
Killian
Kace
Keegan
Kieran
Kobe
Kolby
Kane
Konrad
knox
kendrick
kendall

What about
Kevin
Kyle
Kenneth
Keith
Kelsey
Kacey
Kent
Keifer
Kerry
Keene
Kermit
Kenton
Kenyon
Kirby
Kipling

There's lots of k names!

There aren't many 'K' names that grab me, either. I have a friend whose son is Koen and I think it's super cute!

You could also just look at 'C' names and swap it out for a K.

Kalvin, Kurtis, Kaspar, etc.

I really like Karrick, it's different without being too out there. My youngest is called Kobi.

can you give a child a one letter name? im sure ive read thats not allowed before because it interefers with legal forms

suggestions for K:

Kevin
Keith
Kyle
Kieran
Kennith
Kurt
Khalil
Kipp
Klaus
Keegan
Kirk
Keenan
Keanu
Karl
Keifer
Koby
Kaine
Keene
Kristoff

I really like the spelling suggestion of Kerrick. Either way he might get called Kare or Kerri. Or maybe Rick?

It's not to my liking but there's no reason other than preference as to why I wouldn't choose it.

K names don't really grab me either but some more options:
Kaiser, Kingston, Kasen, Kory..?

That's really interesting. I wonder if it was okay when my dad was born (1958) and they have said you can't do that since then. hmmmm. I'll look into it! Thanks for mentioning it!

I do like Kieran, but DH isn't big on it. We like names that aren't super common, so Kyle, Kevin, Keith, Kerry... all no-goes. K names are just hard for me.

Perhaps I can convince him to just stick with our original name, Everett.

I am not big on that name but I have a couple name. There are not too many good ones.

Kaden
Kaleb
Kedrick
