I had him 2 weeks ago so sorry its abit late
I was told through my pregnancy i would need a epidural due to me having arrythmias and i had declined a csect which they really wanted to do so it would lessen stress on my heart.. just throwing that in before i start
anyway at 38 weeks exactly I woke up to see to my 2 year old boy, i went for my usual morning wee and said to oh "oh i must of been desperate it just keeps coming" i got up off the loo and felt ok just waddling around. My oh was off to the shops to get some nappies and i kissed him goodbye. About 10 mins after him going i felt a warm gush and went straight to the toilet. It started to gush out and i knew they had gone!
I tried to get into contact with oh but he just wasnt answering his phone, i was worried as with my last labour my son came quite soon after my waters breaking and i didnt know if id make the epidural! after 40 mins of trying to get into contact he finally rang me and he got quite abit of abuse haha! he usually always answers his phone! (typical) anyway he returned home and off we went.
I was put into a waiting room with loads of pregnant women who where obviously just waiting for appointments, i was not too pleased with leaking everywhere i was feeling pretty embarresed! The midwives were not too nice and she said shed have to check me as i could just be wetting myself. To which i replied "ive had a child before, im well aware of the difference between a wee and waters!"
She lay me on the bed and just as she put her hands anywhere near me my waters went all over her
haha i thought!! She said they had deffinately gone (well duhhhh!) and she just walked out of the room without passing me any cloths or helping me clean myself up. My oh had to come in and practically wipe me and the bed! I was actually disgusted, luckily my oh didnt mind. Anyway i was sent home as i wasnt actually contracting and i explained how worried i was about missing my epi and having to go through the pain like last time (i experienced bad palps last time due to no pain relief) she wasnt bothered in the slightest and just shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing she could do
Very angry we set off home and i had a rest for about an hour sitting on a towel
i went for a wee and found abit of blood of my pad which i know is a show and i had started contracting. They told me to head back up and i was pretty excited by now!
I was thankfully put into the labour and delivery this time and not a waiting room
and they kept going on about how they cant check me and how my contractions wernt regular. My mum text to say she was on her way and i told her to just wait as could be sent home again.. and she replied "no im here now" the midwife tried to give me some pills and i said to her i didnt want them incase they gave me palps. She looked blank at me and said why would u be worried about that? and i said because i had a heart problem, its alover my notes!!! I then told her about the epi i need (which is also in my notes on a bright red page!!) and she said they couldnt give me one until i was in established labour and that i needed to go home to wait.
By this point i was getting quite worried as i literally didnt feel safe in their hands. There was a knock at the door and my mum waltzed in
just then BAM! here came the contractions, every 3 minutes from nowhere. I needed gas and air within 5 mins as they were sooooo painful! they then checked me to find me 4 cms! i was happy with that "you can now have your epidural" the midwife said and i had to walk to the room up the corridor to the consultant led room.
I got the worst contraction on the way to the room so i ran literally holding my bum!! i layd on the bed to find i was bleeding quite heavy!! i started to cry that i had pressure in my bum and the midwife quickly checked me... I was 8 cms!! in the space of 2 minutes! She told me there was no time for my epidural now and i just cried! i was so scared! Next minute i felt the worst pressure pain and i screamed his heads comingg out! and the midwife told me it wasnt to which i replied " IT ISSSS!!!!!!!" she then opened my legs and said "oh ok then it is" and within 2 massive pushes my baby was born! i pushed so bloody hard, the midwife kept telling me to hang on but was i hell holding on! Out he came crying and i was so happy

I had no stitches and no pain relief! It couldnt of gone better really but i know i should of had the epidural, im just thankful after 9 months of worrying me and my baby are both still here and healthy! All i want to say to any pregnant ladies who have yet to have their children, please listen to your own body you know it better than anybody else! And be open to all possibilities
