Mentioned this before, but Amanda is getting skeptical about Santa. Then she almost caught me out a number of times on Christmas Day, then a few times when I've said I have to return some things.

Today she was looking at a Monopoly game and said, "I thought this was made by Santa." I asked why and she said "Because it says it was made in China."

:dohh::dohh:

Damn, what do I do? Just leave it? I'd hate to explain just days after Christmas that there is no Santa.

Perhaps best to leave it, right? Say that as long as you believe there will always be a Santa.

maybe explain to her that some things are easier for santa to get made because he just has so many children to make for?? Or that the elves were a little sick this year so they had to get some help? im not sure :) how old is she?

She's 8 hon. I was thinking this was probably our last year of playing Santa with her. Kept saying that to my OH and friends before Christmas.

BTW, Congrats on your pregnancy. I just noticed in another thread you had posted in :)

oh 8 yah its probably the last year... maybe next time she brings it up or if she keeps bringing it up maybe explain to her? or wait for her to come out and say it...

And thank you very much! im excited but nervous. :hugs:

Aww, try and relax. So hard to do in the first days and first trimester, I know. Best wishes for a sticky bean!

Yes, once they start reading and are more observant about things, it's harder to play the Santa thing. Kind of sad though too.

I also have a feeling once she finds out he's not real, Jayden will be the next to know. :(

EDIT! You are 11 weeks along!?? WOW! First trimester is almost over for you :)

maybe explain to her that Jayden still believes in Santa and that it would be nice if she kinda played along, like your guys little secret?? From what i have heard about her she seems like a smart girl, and wouldnt want to spoil it

Yes it is almost over (first trimester) lol my fingers are crossed. We have genetic issues so a long road ahead till i feel completely comfortable but so far its looking good :)

She's a very bright girl and can keep a secret :)

Hope you have a healthy and happy rest of your pregnancy! :hugs::hugs:

aww im gna be so gutted when leyla realises santa isnt real, must be difficult, kinda like shes not your little baby no more

:hugs:

x

I'd explain to her that mommy and daddy play Santa and that Jayden and Chase still believe (and possibly other kids she comes into contact with) so she needs to keep a secret.

And today she asks, "If Santa came down the chimney, wouldn't there be a mess?"

Gosh, I wish she'd just let it go.

honestly I did the same thing to my sister for a week until she finally gave in and told me

I am so not ready to give that part up yet :(

Is Father Christmas still a big part in her Christmas experience, or is it more the presents etc? It sounds like she's already working it out, so I'd probably wait a bit and see if she asks or comments that she doesn't think Santa is real...and then explain to her.

xx

I'm 20 and my mom has never, ever told me that Santa doesn't exist... my entire life she has said, "Santa will only come on Christmas if you believe.."

She loves it... I find it annoying. It works for us though.

when my 8 yr old noticed things like this i told him santa was too busy with all the younger boys and girls so mum and dad bought most of the gifts and santa sent the big main gift if he had been good, as far as i know he still believes this and hes 10 in april
