I don't know how many of you are in the UK and watch Coronation Street but I saw the episode last night when one of the characters went in for a 12 week scan and there was no baby!!
I keep worrying that that will be the case for me!!!
I don't know how I can settle the mind on that one.
Due to see the midwife for the first time on friday. I don't really want to spend out on more tests just to demonstrate to myself that I get two lines!!
Arghhh!

If it reassures you - I would take a test. Then you can feel relaxed.

It is worrying, but it is a common worry for pregnant women and quite rare for it to actually happen.

Unfortunately you won't know for sure until you have a scan. I had a pregnancy where there was no baby, only pregnancy tissue, and didn't find out until the 12 week scan. But pregnancy tests were still strongly positive because there was still pregnancy hormone being produced, so a test was no indicator of the problem.

In the Coronation Street case, she had ovarian cysts which can cause false positive pregnancy tests, so again doing a test wouldn't make a difference.

If you are really worried, try seeing your doctor to see if you can get an early scan. In the meantime, take consolation in the fact that this is quite rare and unlikely to be the case with yourself.

I think I am just panicking because it is all such a new experience!
I am sure that soon I shall settle!

LOL, my hubby asked if it was an April fools joke... On April 12th. We weren't trying and I didn't have any symptoms that couldn't be explained away... Only now about two weeks later I am vomiting all the time and I am not a vomiter. DH has witnessed me vomiting, multiple times just today so it makes it more real... The vomiting is actually reassuring, obviously my pg hormones are increasing as I keep feeling more and more sick.

I haven't yet vomited - I am pleased really! Because it would probably be inconvenient.
The toilets are far too far away at work!
I have been making myself feel quite travel sick on my drive to and from work - again that would be really inconvenient too!
I'll get used to it soon. Looking forward to dates when they will allow me to have scans!
