Afternoon all (or morning or evening wherever else you may be!)

So, this month we are going to try really hard!!! Last month we were both shattered and so the month was a bit of a washout.

This month is our first wedding anniversary so I am really looking forward to that and it's also hubby's birthday too!

I am now on CD8, having had a 6 day period, very light on CD5 & 6 however.

This month we are using OPKs (although I'm not telling OH when they're positive so he doesn't feel under pressure, but he does know I'm using them - got a load from eBay!) and I'm going to start temping again, but from tomorrow as I found the thermometer earlier.

Any foods/drinks people can recommend as helping? Or any foods/drinks to avoid? I'm doing Slimming World at the moment too!

Thanks in advance :) xxx

I don't have any food or drink recommendations, but wanted to say congratulations on your anniversary! Enjoy yourselves!

Ahhh that's lovely, thank you! Hubby has booked us a night in a hotel and theatre tickets and is taking me for dinner :) xxx

Hi~ I have done a lot of research about this & here's what I have found:

Foods to avoid while TTC:
*Seafood high in mercury (Salmon & tuna ok once per week)
*Processed sugar- (high fructose corn syrup, soda, any artificial sweeteners like aspartame)
*Large quantities of Parsley (Can bring on period)
*Try to limit dairy products- but milk, cheese, yogurt = good in moderation

Foods to Eat while TTC:
*GREEN TEA***** IS SO GOOD FOR YOU
*Any vegetables high in folate (broccoli, beets, Leafy greens--kale)
*If you crave sweets, try to eat natural sugar (brown sugar, honey, maple syrup)
*Fruits- any & all are good!
*Whole grain bread, pasta, rice
*****WATER, WATER, WATER (room temp w/slice of lemon or cucumber tastes good!) Try to consume AT LEAST 1/2 of your body weight in ounces each day

I have some great recipes that are simple to make & delicious if you would like.
Be well!

Thank you so much for that! That all sounds good - I'm eating lots of F & V and not much chocolate, etc and am generally being healthy so hopefully that helps. I definitely don't think I drink enough water though. Is green tea nice?? xxx

Green tea is amazing! Some find it bitter at first, bu if you buy some green tea mixed with mint leaves, fruit, or stevia (natural sweetener) it can certainly help with that. You can also steep it & chill it in your fridge with some honey to sweeten it up. It is known to help keep your CM healthy & flowing, and it is a powerful antioxidant. It's best to buy loose tea leaves as the pre-bagged tea tends to be more of a powder & is not as fresh (also can taste more bitter).
RE: Water- Many people forget to consume water each day. If you buy a nice (preferably glass---tastes better!!) re-usable container & remember to sip all day as opposed to drinking a lot at one time you'll find it is easier to do.
Be well!
