A little rant first: So me and my OH have officially had our own place for a week now. I feel so accomplished with him having a good paying job, a car, and now our own place. Compared to him I haven't done much, but I've graduated high school early and finished a quarter in college. I realized when I was pregnant I needed to step in high gear but I kind of lost that motivation.

So we're dying to get a puppy. Most likely, were going to get a basset hound. The one we want unfortunately is super expensive ($350) plus the flight (at least $150) and then in the next few months we will have to pay my mom back the deposit ($500 total, but only half initally and pay it off over time). She's so adorable, and is about 5-7 weeks in the picture.

Awh, how cute! I've wanted a puppy for the longest time, I want a cockapoo. :flower: Do you think you guys can work it out and get it? Or look into other options?

adorableeeeeeeeeeee :) goood luck! I hope you get him!

She is like my dream puppy, so I surely hope so! :flower:
Even with the price I just worry that she will come sick or with a personality problem. Shes from all the way across the U.S and I really have no idea if she's as sweet as she looks.
I told my OH I'm going to get a puppy lol. I need something small and cute to give my love to to make up for everything else. And you can't tell me that she just doesn't look like she needs a hug. :haha:

How much do you know about this breeder? If you pm me the State you reside in I can give you some referals to some AKC breeders who do all the health testing, contracts, microchips, socialization and so on for their pups so you are increasing your chances of getting a healthy basset puppy along with an outstanding personality.

BTW just so your aware - depending on where abouts she would be coming from they have quarantine laws ?
But anyway hope you get her :)

I got my two puppies after me and my partner moved too :)

As cute as the pup is i'd never ever consdier getting a dog that i hadnt met before its arrival. s/he looks cute as a button but s/he could be a snarling biting unpredictable dog who will try to eat you as soon as look at you.

Be careful getting a puppy whilst ur pregnant.. I got mine in october the week b4 I found out I was pregnant & its been a nightmare.. I love her to bits thou shes my 1st baby hehe and I would never get rid of her now cos shes the most cutest funniest lil girl ever BUT I do wish I'd never got a puppy whilst pregnant.. U shouldnt really be clearing up dog poo(its ok if u wear gloves etc) but she had problems when I first got her and had to go 2 the vets etc.. and then she ended up getting worms even thou I worm her & that freaked me out cos Ive been very obsessive about stuff since Ive been pregnant.. & U have to get up early every morning whilst ur house training them(I still have to & shes 9 months now). That puppies adorable but really think about all the bad stuff to before u get her and dont rush into it like I did... U have to pay for injections, then any vet bills if she gets ill, & wormer & de fleaing stuff.. Its alot of money. I love dogs thou :) xx

aww so so cute!! i lovee puppies n kittens!x

My sister has been dying to get a pug but after I found out that I was pregnant my parents didn't think a puppy would be a good idea. However her birthday was last week and they got her the cutest pug! She is 8 months old and is really calm and lazy tbh. She is also house trained. I don't think she will be a problem when Daisy comes as she is the most laid back dog I don't think she will even care!
I hope you get your dog :)

I'm not pregnant
And I live in California.
That is the main reason why I haven't made the 100% decision to get her yet. I do realize she could have a personality problem, but shes not an aggressive breed and so its a lot less likely then some other breeds.

shes absolutely adorable :D

I so wish my dog was a pup again! Hes just over 1 now...and a little bugga lugs!

(have to share lol)
The day we got him :)

How adorable! I love how puppies are so small and wrinkly. :haha:

Haha me too :D
Hes just tubby and fussy now!!
and a right mamas boy!!

we were lucky as he came from a litter of my step-dads friend so we knew him before he came to live with us!

I do hope you manage to get the pup you want though :)
Theyre hard work but so worth it...just like babies really!

Because hes so boistrous(spelling?!) and fussy now we've introduced him to a doll, so he knows not to treat the baby like a toy!! x

Thats a very smart idea! Yes, puppies always seem like a huge bundle of work. Im willing to do it though as I've always wanted a dog, and I really want a loyal companion. I know they may not turn out that way, but hopefully with the right training they'll at least be loveable and not aggressive! They do require a lot of attention which is why I am hoping I can get a puppy soon while I'm out of school...I really don't know if my OH will agree to getting her though.
