Hi i am just curious to weather if you need your membranes broken weather it can cause infection and can you op not to have it done i did with my daughter amber and got a infection a week after having her

I had mine broken too and got a terrible infection too, not sure if you can request not to have them broken maybe check with your midwife. x

It does not need to be ruptured. Just make it clear to your doctor in advance.

thanks i am really concerned about it but the only thing is how is will they know if bub has past her marconium

Passing meconium is only common when the baby is either distressed or overdue, and unless the water is VERY very very cloudy with it, it normally doesn't pose any risk, doctors/midwives just like to take precautions :)

NOTHING during your pregnancy has to be done to you if you choose not to have it done. If they tell you they need to, ask them why. If they can't give a clear explanation, tell them NO you don't want it done. Your body, your baby, your choices :)
